Mine only opens and closes when I push the buttons. The sensor does not make it open.** A: There shouldn't be any buttons, there is a sensor in the middle of the front lid rim. With 2 lights on each side that count down when it closes. I just wave my hands over it and it opens, starts to half open when batteries are low. Only button on mine is the on off switch for the lid, and it's underneath, where you put batteries in it If the sensor isn't working, make sure its the correct model number May be defectictive **Q: What is the height of the 80 liter when fully open?** A: The Mirage-X 80L is 36.9" tall with the lid open. I apologize this is not on the listing and we will look to update it.
