My doctor specifically mentioned this supplement by brand name because she wanted me on fish oil to improve my good cholesterol. This is apparently the ideal mix and doesn’t leave people with fishy burps.Fun fact- it does the last part by putting a coating on the pill that your stomach can’t digest, so it doesn’t break down until after I leaves your stomach, which also means you’ll pass the casing intact. Gross and weird, but something to be aware of in case you see the same and panic thinking it’s not working or something’s wrong with you. That’s actually how it’s supposed to work.So, I can happily say I have no side-effects and can take this supplement without issues.That said, we check my numbers every three months right now. So, three months into taking it, my good cholesterol actually went down (that’s bad) and my bad cholesterol went up (also bad). I’ll stick with it for another few months to be sure, but I’m disappointed it didn’t help so far. … It may be worth noting that six+ months ago, I started some diet and exercise changes and have maintained those throughout. At the visit after the first three months (before I started the supplement) my cholesterol improved. While maintaining those changes and adding the supplement for three more months, it got worse. Maybe it’s my body or genetics. Maybe I have something else going on we haven’t discovered yet. I don’t know. I can’t call this a win for me though- aside from the fact that I can take it and make my doctor happy. lol

I've struggled with high cholesterol for years...even statins couldn't get my numbers down to healthy numbers. I researched the benefits of Fish oil and decided to try the GNC brand, mainly because of the price. I've been taking it for about a year now and my numbers have greatly improved!Total cholesterol went from 242 to 146.Triglycerides(bad cholesterol) went from 247 to 129.HDL(good cholesterol) went from 42 to 55.Even my liver functions improved to healthy levels. I also no longer have the brain fog that I used to have.I tried another brand for a few months and my numbers weren't as great as they were with GNC, so I switched back to the GNC brand.That said, fish oil has been sort of a miracle supplement for me. My only regret is that I didn't start taking it sooner.

Aside from being a bit large I find that these are the ones that I find best. I take them as a supplement as I cannot take cod liver oil. No fishy burps or fish after taste. Be advised the pills are a bit large. There is a diagram on the side showing you the actual size so if you have an issue with swallowing I recommend you buy the mini version instead. Price is about the same as buying it in the shop although they are pricier than other brands these are more potent.
