Three well placed bronze colored paper clips rebalanced the assembly. The crackle glass comes off the small solar panel and the panel should be wiped off once a year for best charging. I also replaced the battery after 4 years, which was just a rechargeable AA. Overall, a great interest piece in the garden. I had to replace after 7 years; the bearing assembly wore out.
