IKEA Chair Caster Wheels Replacement, 10mm Stem, 2.5 Inch Rollerblade Casters with Gap-Free Bracket for Safe Barefoot Rolling, Quiet & Floor-Safe, Pack of 5 (Black, Grey/Black)

Purchased these to replace the auto-locking casters that came with my Ikea Markus office chair. They are perfect replacement wheels for non-standard 10mm caster stems (such as those found in Ikea office chairs). I easily installed these in my Ikea Markus office chair (purchased in 2016), although it did take some effort to pull out the originals and to push these in. They are a true joy to roll around on! We have hardwood floors throughout and these wheels are smooth and quiet. I should also mention that these casters will raise the chair up a few cm higher than the original Ikea casters that come with it, so it's worth measuring if that could cause a problem for you. I like that the wheels have a fender and that the ball bearings are tightly sealed so as not to pick up hair and other entanglements on the ground. I will update this review if anything changes. Just to clarify, the Ikea Markus chair (and many other Ikea chairs) use non-standard 10mm caster stems (standard caster stems are 11mm wide....FYI if it doesn't list dimensions it's probably standard sizing). The standard casters on the Ikea chairs have an auto-lock function that they will not roll unless someone is sitting in the chair (super annoying). Ikea doesn't sell polyurethane (PU) wheels (aka rollerblade wheels), and it's almost impossible to find them in stores. But, you can find these products on a variety of caster specific distributor sites, you may want to check and see if you have any local providers (just google caster and you'll see some providers). The online caster distributors/websites seem to have some cheaper options and usually have 10mm stems available. I purchased from AXL because they are prime (easy & quick shipping/returns), have wheels that are sold as replacements for Ikea chairs, quality built, and end up costing about the same as most online distributors/websites when you include/subtract shipping because of Prime. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase so far. The wheels look and function perfectly with my new Ikea chair.....significantly better (and worth every penny) than the auto-lock casters that Ikea sells with this product and other office chairs.

These were such a simple swap, but made a huge difference. We replaced the standard IKEA casters, and now the chair rolls smoothly and almost silently. No more scraping sounds, no sticking, and no awkward dragging across the floor. They glide effortlessly — even on hardwood — and feel much sturdier than the originals. Installation took just a few minutes (pop the old ones out, push these in). If you have an IKEA desk chair and want it to feel upgraded and quieter (especially in a home office), this is absolutely worth it. Small change, big improvement.

Another update as of 10 Feb 2023: I purchased another set of these for another IKEA chair. Yes, a little difficult to get the old ones out and the new ones in, but spent less than ten minutes on the whole project. I highly recommend these for replacement casters for the IKEA office chairs. Edit nearly five years later: These casters are still rolling along great after years of daily use. Little did I know that I would go home in March of 2020 and not go back to the office, so my small investment in the new casters was perfect. They do not mark my laminate floor, roll smoothly, and are still perfect. Ultimately much better than buying a new office chair. I just received these a few minutes ago, and have already swapped them for the casters that came on my IKEA office chair (VILGOT model). The stem is the correct size; three of the five went in smoothly, two were a little more difficult, but still manageable. All told, it took less than five minutes to open the package, replace the casters, and sign in to write this review. They do roll very smoothly over the wood laminate floor in my home office. Another plus is that the chair now turns well, something that the old casters would not do. The original IKEA casters had started literally falling apart, leaving pieces of wheel all over the floor. If you are looking for replacement casters for an IKEA chair, I recommend that you check these out.

my chair is not IKEA, I actually bought it recently on amazon but sure enough it had the ‘smaller’ wheels so the universal ones I ordered didn’t fit. I returned and bought these. These fit and are great. So much better than the plastic castor wheels most chairs (even high quality ones) come with. No more scratching my floors, smooth and quiet. I had a lot of trouble finding anything but black til I found these white ones. I was hoping for gold, but the white ones are okay. If gold was offered I would’ve given 5 stars.

I’m usually hesitant to buy things on Amazon without a good number of reviews, but selected these because they’re the only white wheels I could find that work with my IKEA chair. I’m pleased to share that the quality is wonderful, they fit perfectly, and look great. It took minutes to put them on and now the chair glides like butter. I do like the added design detail, too (a bit of metal that overhangs above the wheel), since this chair is for my kids.

The stock wheel on my ikea chair were horrible and hard to move around but ever since I bought these, the wheels are so smooth and easy to move around. I’ve been having it for a few months and the wheels are still smooth and easy to move. The wheels were easy to install.

These do fit Ikea chairs. I easily added them to the Flintan office chair to replace the original safety wheels. They roll easily on rugs and wood floors. They feel sturdy and are quiet.

It really fits in my swivel chair.

I received this caster wheels within acceptable time, and the product looks and is robust; definitely an improvement over the OEM (original wheels). But the big problem is that the C-rings used to secure the 10mm stems into the chair wheel leg socket were way out of spec, and impossible to install. I solved the problem by getting my largest needle nose pliers and squeezing the rings closer to a suitable OD (outside diameter), so that the stems would plug in and lock into the caster wheel sockets. Pleased by advised that if you buy this product, have some large needle nose pliers handy.

I bought ikea matchspel chair half year ago. The original wheels easily become dirty and left black spots on floor. This set of wheels fit perfect to IKEA chairs, clean and clear.
