Fantastic reel for the HVAC water hoses.
I'm in the HVAC trade and we use water hoses almost daily. Like most I'm not a fan of water hoses, honestly I hate rolling them up. If you don't they take up too much space and get wrapped around everything, hot mess. Additionally, a lot of time is wasted rolling up hoses. Depending on how many units I need to service the time spent on rolling up hoses builds up quickly. So I decided to go on the hunt for a reel system of some short to solve this problem.I searched and searched and nothing that I found quite fit the niche, most are designed to remain stationary or they're even heavier than the hoses I was wanting to put on it. Almost by accident I stumbled upon this reel and immediately saw potential. However, the potential of this reel was almost overshadowed by the new problem of finding a hose that would work with it. But I did...Zero-G 50ft!The reel has a hole/ area the male end of the hose will fit into, I plan on modifying it so it will catch the hose fitting better, but it does catch. Once you starting winding up the hose it will stack up on itself so I have to tilt the reel either left or right to get the hose to wind up evenly. No more, fighting with the standard hoses, during maintenance calls, washing out condensers etc. I grab this reel, connect the female connector to the water spigot and start walking until the hose is completely unwound, connect the spray nozzle and get to work. Easy business. So far this thing has performed flawlessly and we'll just have to see how long it will hold up.I love this reel and I plan on buying more. The reel's construction is solid, don't know what type of polymer they used but it's build like a tank. I'm not going to be dropping it off roof tops, but I'm not afraid of it breaking during normal use. Bravo Martin Product Design!Improvements I'd like to see: improve the hole design in the center of the cassette to it will accept the male fitting of the hose. Make the cassette easily removable, quick disconnect, so it just snaps on.This is a great design and I'm very pleased with it so far.

Not easy to use looks great, light weight hard to assemble not worth it for thr money.
So it was a bit of a blunder on this for the money and even if it was less still so because of the ability to actually use it simply. Also its not the simple looking at it to put together. You will 100 percent look and need the instructions to put it together if it didn't come with the wire or little rope that was showed in the video you have to find online to see how to put together. In the video they showed theres a rope in it to show uou how it goes together. ... once again mine didn't have it so it made it challenging.

Organized my workspace/garage, and made cords and hoses easily accessible
Finally a solution to unyieldly messes. Cords and hoses are wonderful to get jobs done but a pain to retrieve and store. I’ve tried coiling and hanging tricks but they’re been unsatifactory if not down right frustrating. Ugh! FreeReel has made handling cords and hoses a joy. And they look great when stored. No longer do I gringe at the thought of taking down my electric cords or garden hoses. I can now begin and end a task without a frustrated tangle.I now have two FreeReels, one for a water hose and the other for an electric cord, both hung in my garage. My first use took a bit of learning (maybe 5 minutes) - how to attach a cord, winding and unwinding. Now it’s all intuitive and simple. I don’t know how I managed without FreeReels and would never go back.Long electric cords can be frustrating especially when they are stiff, twisted and tangled. FreeReel changes all that. Yesterday I had an old 100’ cord that had be sitting in my cold garage in a mess. I attached the end to FreeReel and started winding. Sure enough kinks and bends yielded to FreeReel’s design and winded into an even coil. Now I have a cord that can be used with ease.Having owned FreeReel for months now, I’ve given one to my dad, sisters and brothers. It’s an ideal gift item since it’s unique, solves day-today problems and has multiple uses. Sure, it looks a bit weird out of the box but it can help organize any workshop or garage.

I'm over rating this article with 1 star.....
If I could only give -1 star I would feel completely satisfied. If any future buyer are looking for something like this, run like hell from this contraption! This design is not a good design for thicker cords and they know that! They deviously hide the assembly instruction and use rope not nearly the same thing) to demonstrate the "ease of use" - cleaver and definitely misleading. I was so angered for not being able to make the use of it, ended up slamming the stupid contraption against the pavement, rendering any return impossible. In order to make this thing work after all, ended up taking apart the drum and than feed the cord thru it to make it usable.Look around, sure there are other electrical cord spools designs better than this one! And BTW, the 32 reviews with 5 stars must be the employees trying to keep their jobs or 32 people reeling only the practice rope.

Awesome Product
Love the concept and the function of this cord reel. It's easy and works great. The only a small issue was I didn't get the "storage mount" when purchased thru Amazon. The storage mount is available thru Martin Product Design, as is the cord reel itself, but the satisfaction I got when I was able to roll-up my electrical cord which has been an issue for so many years made this small inconvenience (no storage mount) a small issue.Going to purchase a few more for birthday and Christmas gifts for my sons and son-in-law

Pretty cool reel.
Pretty ingenious device but my 3/8” Giraffe heavy duty air hose is too thick to fit in the exterior mounting brackets. I was still able to wind my 50’ hose on the device. I noticed in the pictorial paperwork as well as the videos that there is a wall hanger but none was included with the delivered product. This reel would be great for power cords!

The reel will work OK for light use. I ...
The reel will work OK for light use. I bought it to hold a 100 ft 12/3 power cord. It does have the capacity to hold the cord but when you are winding the cord is off center from your holding point. You end up trying to reel in cord with all the weight off to one side. Very awkward by the time you get to 100 feet.
