FRESH SPEED 4-Inch External Extractor Wall Vent Cushioned Non Return Flap

This was very easy to install and looks great. It had enough grip with the outlet pipe that I didn't need to bother with screwing it to the wall, which is good because the wall is brick. It feels substantial and durable, and it's been exposed to the elements all year and hasn't so much as tarnished. The ones at the hardware store are usually junk.

This replacement flap is solid quality and very easy to install. It fit perfectly and replaced our old broken one without any issues. Looks great and functions just like new. Exactly what we needed for a quick fix.

The material is shiny, claim to be stainless steel. This is great because this metal color can be combined with any wall color in general, avoiding painting or matching the wall color need. Comes with a rubber packer that helps to seal gaps between the wall and the vent hood. It has a flapper that opens easily with the air blowing to outside and close by gravity when there is no air blowing out ( if you want it close properly, it has to be place perfectly vertical or a bit upward angle. Down side for me, it doesn’t come with a mesh to prevent animals to get into the vent. I bought a stainless steel mesh sheet and cutout a circle from it to place it just behind the flapper as second containment. My flapper stay a bit opens since appears that my wall is not perfectly vertical, so the mesh will be an insurance. Overall, I recommend it.

The stainless vent is made really well. I think it is going to do the job great and last very well. I do have to agree with several other reviews saying that the black seal / gasket thats supposed to seal it to the wall is junk. It is ever so slightly to small and although I tried everything I could think of to get it to stay on and in place it would not could not and I ended up not using it. Why include it or make it larger if it doesn't fit??? Great stainless vent, terrible gasket.

Really well designed and built. Went on with ease. Works as expected. Bonus: well sound insulated so wind gusts don’t bang the flapper audibly. Mounted in high wind area.

I installed this pretty much right away, as the old one desperately needed replaced (it was most likely 50 years old or more). It was no longer closing properly and allowing moisture into my dryer when not in use, and I even found a surprise dead rodent in the hose at one point! The gasket on this vent will of course fall off unless the piece is tightened to the exterior of the building, so be sure to have it properly seated before securing the vent damper with the provided screws. These holes even aligned with the old anchor points, so it was an absolute breeze. There are tension springs on the duct end, so your hard ductwork should snap on securely (don't use the paper foil or plastic hose for dryer vents, but the flexible hose that is not paper - often called rigiflex - should also snap on correctly). The damper swings freely but is inclined to be closed when not in use. To be sure moisture and critters are very discouraged from coming in, I also put a damper on the inside of the house opposite the outside vent.

Much less expensive than what I saw in the hardware or big box stores. Works as expected. Flapper valve stays closed when not in use. Much better than plastic.

I’m very happy with great quality and design with these vent covers — they fit perfectly and look clean and modern. The material feels sturdy, and installation was quick and easy. They improved both the appearance and airflow in the room. Excellent value for the price — I’d definitely recommend them for anyone upgrading their vents.

Es de muy buena calidad, justo lo que necesitaba para extraer el calor al usar mi horno instalado en una cocina integral. Su diseño es muy funcional y su material de acero inoxidable le da excelente vista.

Stainless steel ensures it won’t rust. I use it for an exterior vent for my laser etcher. There is a foam seal that also makes sure the flap does not clang when it opens or closes. Where I live there are lots of Red Squirrels around so I felt it was necessary to fabricate a 1/2” wire mesh guard over the vent on the outside of the house to be sure squirrels could not get into the house. And I was right to be cautious because I observed a squirrel investigating the vent right after I installed it.

Look it's a dryer vent! But.. it's not plastic! Which is what drew me to it. Plastic is all they seem to sell at the big box stores for a little less money than this and they are mostly junk. With the severe heat in the Ontario summers and severe cold in the winters it doesn't take long for the plastic to become brittle. Product came well packaged and Installation was fairly easy. I attached it to 4 inch rigid dryer vent pipe. The rubber gasket to prevent noise was a bit of pain, had to stretch it to fit and it would pop off fairly easily. However, once the vent was secured to the wall the gasket wasn't going anywhere. No need for glue like some people have mentioned. Used Tapcons to attach to wall and an exterior sealant to make it water tight. I’m not sure this vent will offer a ton of protection from mice as the flap if fairly light. However that's easily rectified if it becomes an issue. Tested it out and the exhaust comes out just fine, flap opens and closes as expected. So far I am satisfied with this purchase. Lost one star due to annoying gasket, but other then that its a good product.
