High Energy Niger Seed - Good Quality
Thistle seed (known as Niger) is an important fat seed for nesting time and favorite food of my lesser goldfinches. I am very happy with the quality of this seed I purchased through Amazon. Niger is expensive because processing is a huge deal. The price is fair and the quality of this brand is great.

Fresh!
Nice seed - fresh, and the birds do enjoy it. I've purchased Nyjer thistle seed elsewhere and if it's not fresh the birds do not eat it.

This is good quality thistle and the finches go nuts over it.
This large bag is a real money-saver as compared to purchasing it in those socks or smaller containers. The seeds are clean and there's no chaff that I could see in the bag. We go through a TON of thistle around here all year round so this is a real value for us!Happily recommended.

Finches love it!
My feeders are always swarmed when I fill them with this seed. It is clean with no “garbage” in it. The finches here are very picky about their food. They love this seed.

Good seeds
Updated: Months later, there have been some birds who do like it now. It helped attract a pair of finches so I am changing my review. For whatever reason, the birds in my backyard (who are very curious otherwise) took months to take to this.The sock ripped. And no bird will touch this. I have other seeds and they eat everything except this. I mixed it with my other seeds now I have to somehow figure out how to get rid of these. And the product can’t be returned.

Attracts Many Bird Types
Happy birds! And not just finches, though there are plenty of lesser goldfinches hanging around. If you enjoy watching sparrows, towhees, and even doves BUT not rodents, this is the birdseed for you. I have a special feeder but there is plenty of seed that drops on the ground for other birds to feed on. It does make a bit of a mess but it is such a pleasure to watch them, I don’t mind.
