Equally Remarkable! 🥰
Author Toshikazu Kawaguchi has once again delivered a wonderful story! The second book is equally as remarkable as the first one!! This writer is truly talented in crafting unique narratives that appear to imbue meaning into the lives of all, even the audience. Both me and you!Continuing from the first book, book two maintains the same characters. The stories from the cafe in the second book introduce new characters while the readers discover their stories. Visiting the cafe once more, characters either revisit the past or look into the future, all before the coffee grows cold. Despite the certainty that nothing can be altered from past events, going back or taking a glimpse into the future provides the opportunity to express unsaid words or shed light on what was previously unclear and unfamiliar.Reading the series "Before the coffee gets Cold" is truly a beautiful experience, allowing one to uncover the wisdom that Kawaguchi introduces.I strongly suggest these books. Anticipating book three, "Before Your Memory Fades", is now my next step.

Another Chance to Travel in Time Before Your Coffee Gets Cold
I enjoyed the first book in this series by Toshikazu Kawaguchi so much that I immediately grabbed the second, "Tales from the Cafe." The setting is an out-of-the-way cafe in Tokyo where people brave enough to sit in a particular chair and to drink a cup of coffee that must be poured by a woman member of the Tokita family only when the mysterious "woman in white" gets up once a day to go the bathroom, can visit the past, or even the future. The rules from Book 1, "Before Your Coffee Gets Cold," still apply. I recommend that readers tackle the books in order, because some action in Book 2 turns out to relate to events or people in Book 1. For example, readers will find out how the "woman in white" from Book 1 became a ghost. Will she ever have a chance to leave her "permanent" seat in the cafe? One prime rule about the time travel is that the short trip will not change anything from the past. If a person is dead today, for example, nothing a traveler can do in the past will change that. I love the characters for their sensitivity, their good heartedness and that they are willing to risk becoming a ghost if they do not finish their coffee before it gets cold. In this installment, four people take the plunge and emerge with a new outlook on life. This fantasy-filled book is a refreshing look at finding hope and leaving despair behind.

Enjoyed
I enjoyed this book...easy reading with deep understanding of people and the choices they make at that time and the simple regrets of them.

Time travel
If you enjoy time travel, interesting stories, and different characters, then you will enjoy Tales from the cafe. Science fiction isn't really my thing

If you enjoyed Before the Coffee Gets Cold, Tales from the Café is right up your alley.
In this second volume of the series, "Before the Coffee Gets Cold," readers are presented with the stories of four new time travelers seeking the chance to make something in their lives right. While most are seeking a second chance at something they failed to do in the past, one travels to the future to help someone in their present move on and find happiness. The stories are similar in nature to those in the first book, and characters from that one reappear along with some new faces. We learn more about the mysterious woman in the white dress who is consigned to spending her afterlife forever anchored to the café seated at a specific table in a specific chair. The travelers’ stories, why they decided to move about in time, and the results of their travels are all touching and satisfying. However, my favorite revelations were about the women in Kazu’s family and how the task of pouring the coffee to send a traveler on their way is transferred from woman to woman. If you enjoyed the premise and lovely tales from "Before the Coffee Gets Cold" and just weren’t ready to say goodbye to the patrons and staff of 'Funiculi Funicula,' "Tales from the Café" is right up your alley.

Not as good as book 1 in the series
While still an interesting concept of a special cafe that allows individuals to travel to the past or future but without the ability to change anything, book 2 in the series is a little more chaotic and confusing. Still a good read though.

Lovely glimpse at the best of human spirit
Each story was a warm-hearted reminder of what it can be like to think of others rather than just our selfish selves. In a world that can so often be mean-spirited, the choices that the protagonist of each chapter made were inspiring and heartwarming. I felt like I too was transported back in time and reluctantly awakened from my reverie just before my coffee got cold. Highly recommended reading experience.

2nd time I cried
What a lovely 2nd instalment of this wonderful series. I would highly recommend both book one and this second one, really looking forward to the third in the series. Great author, great stories and really heart wrenching characters. Would you go back in time?…

I'm not crying, you're crying...
...or at least you most likely will be if you decide to read this sequel to Before The Coffee Gets Cold.I have to say that I found the stories in this book even more heartbreaking than in the first part, although thankfully the running theme continues to be heartbreak with a hint of optimism.I loved to see more of the main protagonists Kazu, Nagare and Miki, but I was a little disappointed that former café regulars such as Fusagi and Kohtake didn't make a reappearance.Upon starting this book, I was honestly not too sure about whether I would want to continue reading the series, however as with the first one, I got hooked pretty quickly and am looking forward to diving into more stories and destinies!
