follow the directions . the ball is 1 7/8" . it is a good size for moving a boat trailer. the 12" tires are nice.

Good price, decent quality
At the sale price of $70 this dolly is excellent. I needed to move my 16 foot trailer into a difficult storage space. It came with 1 7/8 " balls but imagine you're ok with a 2 inch if you swap. Good price, decent quality

Very sturdy, great value!
This trailer dolly is very sturdy, much more so than it looks in the pictures. I'm giving it 5 of 5 stars because it's an incredible value. The only thing that would work better for me is if the ball were a little higher ... but I think this is a limitation of the relatively affordable design ... if it were higher, it would not be as sturdy.

Ball is pretty low to the ground and hits the trailer jack arm.
Works great EXCEPT the ball is mounted too low thus I cannot turn my trailer a true 90 degrees thus I have a limited turning radius. The big wheels run into the trailer brake mounted on the frame and they also hit the jack arm. What it needs, and I am going to find one, is a jack ball extender to raise the ball higher on the dolly. Hopefully this should give me the turn radius I need to spin the trailer on my driveway.

A Quality Product
I purchased this to move my trailers around my property. It was relatively easy to assemble, instructions were good, and it was packaged adequately and arrived in good condition. I've already used it, because I was waiting on it to move a trailer. It worked perfectly, didn't complain, and was able to move a small 2,200 lb RV with a tongue weight of 250lb easily on flat terrain. One caution, and it was likely my fault, is that I stripped the receiving threads for one of the 4 bolts in the unpainted piece that connects the top part of the handle to the rest of the unit. The bolts use a spring washer and as I tightened the bolt, I felt it give way and confirmed that the receiving threads were stripped. Given that the other bolts use nuts and are heavy duty and can take much torque, I advise being more gentle with these four bolts into that particular part. I guess I could order a replacement, but I'll see how it goes for now.The BIGGEST issue I had with this order was NOT the product, but with Amazon delivery. When I placed this order, there was a countdown flag that said order within 2 hours to receive by Mar 25, which I did. I was logged in, so it Amazon knew my address. It was stated that it would arrive then in the email order confirmation, it was shipped early enough, but while waiting on it to arrive on Mar 25 to move my newly received trailer out of my driveway, I received an email from Amazon telling me that they were "sorry" and that delivery would now be Mar 26. I understood this to be "guaranteed delivery" when there is an "order by" flag, but don't believe it. I paid $28 on a $79 product for fast delivery. I've tried repeatedly to contact Amazon to request a refund on the shipping, but there is apparently no way to do so. Every possible attempt has ended in a dead-end with no human in sight.I'm sick of Amazon. Unfortunately, sometimes, especially in Alaska, there are few other options. I've had such ridiculously bad delivery experience with Amazon in the past, that I ONLY use Amazon as a last resort, even if I end up paying more somewhere else (like eBay). I also recently cancelled my Prime membership as a result. This shipping issue is all on Amazon and does not reflect on the product or the manufacturer at all.

No more lifting the trailer tongue and breaking my back.
Once assembled, and the tires are inflated, it works well. I have a 4x8 single axle trailer that’s a lot easier to move around with this dolly. No more breaking my back lifting the trailer tongue and pulling the trailer. The trailer is lowered onto the dolly ball, and it’s easier to move the trailer, without having to support the weight.

Defective Tires
The dolly seems well made, assembled easily, and works good. Problem was with the12" pneumatic tires received with the dolly. I purchased this item late Oct. 2022, assembled it and moved one small fishing boat to storage in a barn for the winter. I then stored the dolly indoors in the same barn for the winter. This following spring I went to use the dolly again and one of the tires was flat - like off the rim flat. The other tire still had air in it. I took the flat to a local tire shop to get repaired and the service rep said the tire is not fixable due to the numerous cracks and splits in the rubber all around the tread on the tire - see attached photos. Then I came home and checked the other dolly tire, and it was cracked and split the same but not as bad yet. I contacted MaxxHaul customer service, and explained situation and sent them these attached photos. MaxxHaul's response was "the item is past the 90 days replacement parts warranty. We will gladly provide you with a $10.00 Amazon gift card as a courtesy". I told them to keep their 10.00 and purchased 2 new tires for the dolly for $49.35. The tires were obviously defective when I received them last fall to look like this after a 1 time use and 6-months of storage. I thought MaxxHaul should cover my cost of the replacement tires even though it was past the warranty period - but they did not. So I paid $94.00 for the new dolly and 6 months later paid $50.00 more for 2 new tires. After all this I would advise customers check the tires received with this dolly immediately so they can get some kind of help within the warranty period if needed. No more MaxxHaul products for me.
