Q: What is the “standard” size? I’m confused with the options. Please help.

There is no standard. It depends on your orchid type, age, size, general health, environment (where you live, how much rainfall, humidity levels, temperatures , etc.), and your cultural habits (what pots, what media, what if anything do you add to the media, how often do you water, etc.) and the sun exposure you give it. If you look at the pictures above at description, there are two charts that 1) advise the product grades and corresponding size, and 2) which may be best for certain orchids. Or search Daltons NZ Orchiata. It is my understanding from a NZ news release Dalton was the processing partner with Besgrow and Besgrow sold it to Daltons in 2019.

Q: Is this bag enough to fill 8 orchid plants in 4" pots?

Depends I guess...if you're using a shallower pot like an azalea pot and have alot of roots then I'd say maybe. Otherwise I'd say probably not. ..but I'm guessing.

Q: Does this product come in the Orchiata bag or in a clear plastic bag?

It comes in the Orchiata bag just as pictured on the listing.

Q: What is this supposed to smell like? Why do I feel like it smells moldy or musty? Is this normal?

To me it has an earthy smell which is normal. The whitish powder you may see on it is dolomite which the manufacturer puts on it to help adjust the ph...don't wash it out.
