Why not cover the whole side?
This was a good idea, but the heat resistant foil does not cover the whole side of the guard. We’ve had ours for a month and it’s already burning and warping.Updating this review......taking this down to one star. My wife was boiling a larger pot of water. We smelled something burning, the kitchen smoke alarm went off and we realized the plastic was burning on the top of the guard. It was black, smoldering, and the whole thing was warping and the foil was pulling away from it. We thought maybe we shouldnt use larger pans near the edge of it, but we shouldn't have to do that. The large burner is near the front edge and it takes forever to boil a pot of water on the other burners.

THIS IS NOT A SAFETY GUARD AT ALL... NOT FOR YOUR LOVE LITTLE KIDS AND FOR YOU WHO IS STANDING NEXT TO IT EVERYDAY COOKING... THE PIECE OF PLASTIC CAN NOT BE TOUCHED BECAUSE IT GET EXTREMELY HOT AND AFTER A COUPLE DAYS OF USE IT GET DEFORMED BECAUSE IT NOT STRONG TO RESIST EVERY DAY USE.PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NO TO SPEND YOUR MANY IN THIS PLASTIC, FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR KIDS
