For the tacticool smoker
I'm not the edc survivalist type. I'm more of carrying what I normally encounter and need edc type. I bought this with the intention of keeping a pack of cigarettes and a lighter inside while attached to my work belt to keep stuff from accumulating in my pockets. It performs perfectly with plenty of room to spare. Two packs will also fit, but it's real tight at that point. I only wish that it was belt ready, however two tacties are required to do so. Luckily I already had a couple laying around.

This is my favorite Maxpedition pouch to put on my Kydex knife sheaths
This is my favorite Maxpedition pouch to put on my Kydex knife sheaths. I attach them with paracord. It holds as much stuff as you could fit in an Altoids tin. Well made.

Well built
Well made, perfect size for what i was looking for. Build quality is top notch. I bought it as a waist pack that would just hold keys and minimalist wallet and speed strip and maybe something else tiny. I bought a few things for this purpose but most were either too big or too flimsy. Very happy

The perfect belt pouch for me
I usually carry a Maxpedition Sitka gearslinger with most of my EDC gear, but I wanted something smaller to carry the bare essentials on my belt. I tried a lot of other Maxpedition pouches before settling on this one.The Maxpedition M-1 Waistpack and Maxpedition M-2 Waistpack hold a lot of gear, but I felt they were too big. Also, they only zip a third of the way down, making it tough to reach small objects hiding on the bottom of the pouch. I liked the size of the Maxpedition Anemone Compact Utility Pouch better, but the front flap pocket made it stick out from by belt too much (and I didn't really use it, anyway). The Maxpedition Triad Admin Pouch is a cool idea (and cheaper than buying the three pouches individually), but it's massive. After wearing it for a few days I ended up finding a home for it on the outside of my Kelty Tactical Falcon 4000 Backpack. The Barnacle is just right for me. It's big enough to hold everything I need, but not so big it gets in the way. It's currently holding two pens, a small Sharpie, a 4Sevens/Foursevens Quark Tactical 123/ QTL Black Finish / Cool White LED G2; 2XCR123A; 246 Lumens, an Adventure Medical Kits Sol Rescue Howler Whistles (2) , 2 - Ounce, a spare CR123 battery, a Bic lighter, a small hank of paracord, some Band-Aids, and a .380 magazine. There's still plenty of room to spare. It looks like a small digital camera case so it's easily ignored. It attaches to your belt (or any other MOLLE compatible pack) with two Maxpedition 3-Inch TacTie - Pack Of 4.

Perfect size to attach to my 5
Perfect size to attach to my 5.11 Rush 12 backpack for EDC. I keep 2 sets of contact lenses, a case, and cleaning solution/eye drops in it. It's been attached for ~3yrs and looks as good as the day I bought it.

Smaller than expected. Check size needs for use.
Smaller than imagined. Size limits general utility. Will hold small set of keys and some small pocket items, not much more. Like all Maxpedition gear, it is well.made and heavy duty - no problem there.

Great build quality
I bought this to put on my big habalis bushtool srt knife and works wonders as it is compacts but large enough to hold all my gear i want to take with me. The zipper quality alone is worth it and you will never tear the canvas material its soooo well built.

Great pocket camera case
I bought this pouch as a carry case for my Canon Powershot ELPH 100 camera and it really serves well in that role. The pouch is large enough to hold the battery charger which is a plus, although when I take the camera in the field I leave the battery charger at home to cut down on the bulk. The padded sides provide adequate protection for the camera and the soft lining hasn't scratched the camera screen at all, it's been over a year now. The outside pocket is perfect for any extra SD cards I wish to carry, but there's enough room on the inside for that as well. I wanted to lash it to my belt so I bought two 3-inch Tact Ties (also from Maxpedition) which work great, but you could also use 550 cord or rope to accomplish the same purpose. Love the quality construction and highly recommend it for this purpose.
