Yes. We bought two of these - one for our motor home, and one for our tow car. The mount with the suction cup did not hold the suction very well.

Q: Why is the cr500hd made with a weak specialized mount and not designed to accept a better mount?

I own 2 different FineVu CR500's and both are really good mounts. Even when I bought a new car, I transferred both cameras to the new car, both mounts held up really good. My 2nd camera's mount snap in half because a car wash personal was too careless. Which is why I bought this mount on Amazon. (shrug shoulders), I think the mounts are pretty sturdy.
