I bought this item after reading many peoples review, but the filter doesn't filter the water, i have a tester and the water comes out 20% higher in chemicals, metals etc, my tap water reads at 321% chemicals and the one from this filter reads at 340%, it was a waste of money, i will have to look for something else.

Using 2 - 5 gallon buckets with spicket. Drill your holes and install. Takes forever to filter water the first 5 gallons. Speed increases with use. Cannot identify anything saying they're activated charcoal or not. I assume they are but nonetheless worth every dime. Pure water makes delicious coffee!

So far, so good.
