Not the easiest to install. Good product once it's up there.
Buying this thing was kind of an ordeal. Installing it was no picnic. But now that it's in place, I'm happy with it.My first attempt at purchasing it was through an Amazon Warehouse deal where it was an open box product that was supposed to be complete, but with damaged packaging. When I received it, it turned out to be missing most of the installation hardware. So I sent it back, intending to purchase a completely new one. But when I tried to reorder the product through the normal route - paying full price - they had knocked the price for a new one up by $20, which made it a lot less attractive. I put the idea on hold for a few days, then checked again, and the price had come back down... So I went ahead and bought it.I installed it in my garage, which has a drywall ceiling dropped slightly from the joists, so I had to get into the attic and drill several small holes through the ceiling, on the sides of the joists, to make sure I was hitting the actual beams with the lag bolts. It took about 4 hours to line everything up just right and get it in place - complicated by the fact that the attic over the garage is used as storage, and has a plywood floor on top of the joists. So, weird experience purchasing and tricky installation, that could be made easier with a different design (like having bolts with washers and nuts, rather than lag bolts, that would have the bolts going all the way through the joists. Then I could have drilled a single set of holes through the joists from the attic, rather than having to go back and forth 4 times, drilling a bunch of little alignment holes in the ceiling to line everything up.) But now that it's in, it does exactly what it's supposed to do - stays right where it is with no movement whatsoever while I use it. I'm very happy with that.

Sturdy pull-up bar comes with all mounting hardware needed
Bar is solid and the welds are large and clean. My son and his high school buddies use the bar often (as do I, but to a lesser extent) and it feels solid and it doesn't budge or squeak. It came with all of the required mounting hardware (including 4 heady duty lag bolts). I did have one issue where the rubber grip on one of the front handles was ripped. I let the vendor know and they shipped me a complete new handle and rubber grip as a replacement (not just the rubber grip). Highly recommended.

Image and dimensions are NOT accurate
The picture and the description of the dimensions of the mounting plate are inaccurate. Based on that information I purchased this to mount it on a 2x4 (about 3.5" wide for the mounting plate). The actual dimensions of the mounting plate are 8" x 2.5", significantly different from the image and the description. Had to return it immediately.

very sturdy product, will recommend to anyone with proper tools
Luckily I have lots of tools and knowledge of assembly. The included wood bolts were overkill, very thick. I understand they should be big for safety reasons. 2 missing bolts and washer; not a huge deal as I have lots of spares in my garage.I'm happy with the purchase because it's built solid, and grips seem to be secured very well to the bar.1 star off for (poor packaging, missing hardware, overkill wood screws)1 star off for width of parallel bars: too wide (i suspect this won't be a problem for most people)

Rock solid
Got this used from Amazon warehouse deals. The studs in my garage are 24" on center, so this worked beautifully. Feels very solid when attached. This should go without saying, but I somehow overlooked this: if you're a tall person and your garage ceiling is 8ft or so, this unit hangs down 16in. My garage ceiling is 8ft 2in, and I'm 6ft 1in, so the bar is just 9in above my head. I have to bend my knees while I do pull-ups to get a full extension. So an ideal situation would be a 9ft ceiling. That being said, it's easy crossing my legs and lifting them up for a dead hang.

Poor design for ceiling mount
Good pull up bar but the width of the handles does not correspond with standard width of truss so you can’t just screw it into the ceiling. We had to nail a board to the ceiling and then the pull up bar to the board - doesn’t look nice but there’s no other way to securely attach it to the ceiling. Pretty stupid design.

One of my better decisions
This is exactly what I was looking for. It is a quality item with well made hardware and excellent fit and finish. The only improvement I would make would be to provide a mounting template, that could be attached to the ceiling, and thereby save a lot of measuring time, etc. during installation.

This was easy to install and is sturdy and secure
This was easy to install and is sturdy and secure. It can support my 200+lb husband without moving an inch. I would recommend this, as it is sturdy and very secure.
