The map upgrades have a description of skycams... **Q: i want to know if i can just sit it on the dashboard without it falling off.** A: Probably not, unless you have a glass smooth, probably plastic, area that the suction cup will adhere too. In my case I used double sticky tap to put a smooth piece of plastic in the area I wanted the GPS. It has been working well for a couple of months. Love the unit by the way. Better then the old Garmin that I had. **Q: Does it receive signal from Satellite or ground signal transmit tower?
