Oceanic Viper 2 OH FIN

Good solid starter fin. Open heel design makes them easy to get on and off over booties. Not super flexible, very stiff in motion in the water. Still a good choice for someone beginning out. Size small is true to size.

I got these because they won best over all fins in a best fins of 2022 comparison and I was not disappointed. The have an easier kick than my girlfriends old scupa-pro fins but they still propel me faster. The strap adjustments and quick releases are sturdy and easy to use. My girlfriend tried them and is getting a pair for herself.

I got these fins for work and they did great when the tide was dead, but on full swing of the tide, these fins were very cumbersome and hurt the top of my foot from kicking. I was working in rivers and tidal creeks, so water flow was substantially high where I was. These would be fine in open water I’m sure.

I thought they would be great. Upon first glance, they seem wonderful and well made. In action, they are absolutely terrible. I used these all day while swimming and scuba diving. They kept flying off and I lost them mid dive on multiple occasions. The adjustable straps are the issue. The straps don't stay in place and loosen immediately in the water. I was tightening the straps as far as they would go all day long in and out of the water. It was very distracting and posed a risk while on a dive. I only used them all day yesterday, because I don't have a back up pair. I will be seeking new fins immediately and will not be using these or this brand whatsoever.

Will write a more detailed review after I try them in the water. I wanted something for snorkeling, not diving, but that was still quality. These fit my feet REALLY well so I’m not worried they will fall off (I’m size 6-6.5 female but very narrow heel). They also are not overly heavy and or bulky so I’m very hopeful they will work good snorkeling. :) Excited to try them.

Bought these fins for a trip to the Philippines and they worked great for both snorkel and scuba. They heals up well with all the travel. The fins are comfortable and easy to get on and adjust in the water.

Wish I would have bought the XS instead of S (I am a size 7) but they work and I love them!

I purchased these for my songs needed for his scuba certification. He performed five tank dives in total on three boat trips in Key Largo, FL. The wear seen in the photos occurred during his short walks from his seated position to the back of the typical dive operation’s 45’ boat while geared up. If you distend the black rubber, you can see that it’s torn clear through at the tip of every blue point. I’m no product engineer, but it seems like the rigid blue plastic is easily chewing through the thin black rubber at this point in the flipper. It seems like the blue plastic protrudes to the tip of the thin to provide more support to the thin rubber, but in reality it just helps chew a hole through the rubber. The blue plastic is the proverbial rock, and the boat deck is the ‘hard place’ that destroys the thin rubber along the fins trailing edge. I was expecting more from a well known SCUBA gear producer (for the price), so I’m disappointed. By comparison, my personal fins have lasted 22 years with minor functional wear. I was wanting higher quality gear for my son. They get two stars because they were comfortable to wear with Mares booties and they performed well for him in the water.
