The unit really takes the guess work out of temperature control and I am saving a noticeable amount of charcoal using IQ120. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great buy *by J***F on November 10, 2021* So far so good. Keeps temperature steady. Best way to use is to start your fire In the barrel and let the device bring it up to temp for you. I’m impressed and can’t wait to smoke a Turkey on it for Thanksgiving. Super easy set up. Easy to control. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great so far *by J***O on August 9, 2021* I have only used this once and it worked nearly flawlessly with a tri tip. Temperature was spot on @ 225F - I could never get that low or precise without this device. It took a bit longer than my previous tri tip cooks, which TBH were too quick. This will also give me much more flexibility for longer/slower cooks.I say nearly because:1) The open lid detection is either defective or it just takes a long time2) I didn't feel safe hanging it from the two rebar rods on the Pit Barrel - not a big deal, I placed it on a short table I keep nearby3) Probe was a little fiddly but I do like the alligator clip. I attached it to one of the grate support pegs, I will try other options the next time.4) The fan has a shutter mechanism, not much explanation on using that other than to experimentOne additional point is the large number of parameters you get to program.
