Not just for bakers, a great small business bible
This is a well written and accessible how-to guide for anyone in the baking business. BUT, it's lessons and themes have a much wider relevance in the small business world. If you make anything at all, and are wondering whether to or have started to go into business making that thing, STOP AMD READ THIS BOOK. It's invaluable to bakers everywhere, but also relevant to makers everywhere. It's accessible, and packed with relevant information and laid out in a very approachable way. The author's voice is genuine and her experience and advice is presented in a friendly and frank manner. And she will make you laugh. It will be my business bible for a long time to come. Can't recommend it highly enough.

This book is hard to put down. as a busy mom of 3 and having a full time in home bakery its hard to stop and read.but it is a must to read so take a break from Pokemon Go and sit and read this book. If this were in Audion id listen to it over and over. There are some great business tips in this book and every baker should read this whether they want to keep a home based business or start a brick and mortar

Insightful...
I'm reading this on my kindle and the grammatical/spelling errors are just about doing me in. I don't know if it's just this version or mistakes that went directly from the blog to the page, but there are many. And I'm not an expert on grammar by any means, but you don't need to be to easily come across the mistakes. That said, it makes the book feel lazy, she tells us right away it's basically the blog in book form, and I do not like to read blogs so I'm fine with the idea of compiling all of this information into a book. And much of the information is quite useful, but some editing would have been welcome! As I saw another reviewer said, even just changing time references a bit or, as I just read a chapter where reference was made to a meme posted on FB, but we can't see the meme in the book and it's not explained, so it does not translate well. All in all, it is worthwhile read packed with a lot of knowledge, so I do recommend it. But please, someone out there in editing world, clean it up!!

Advice Perfect For Any Small Business Owner, Not Just Bakers
Although the intended audience for the book is the home baker industry, the business advice is applicable to any small business owner. So much so in fact, that I bought this book for my sister who helps run a doggy day care! The book answers questions on employee management, pricing, advertising, customer service, self care, and so much more. And it does so with a voice that's honest and passionate. I would recommend for any business owner!

... not a baker but I used all of Michelle's great advice to move my art business forward
I am not a baker but I used all of Michelle's great advice to move my art business forward. This is not just a book about business , it is about how to create the life you want to live and find the balance so that you can enjoy your hard work and feel proud about your efforts and success. She holds the keys and I can't recommend this book enough ( and every other product) Michelle has to offer. So think differently....it is not about baking or about cake it is about being an entrepreneur in your creative field of endeavor.

Definitely worth your time if you are selling or considering selling your baked goods as a business.
I would recommend this book to any one thinking of delving into the business of selling their baked goods. This is really targeted to the person at home who is being told they should "sell" their baked goods and the already selling, but not quite wearing the entrepreneur crown comfortably. Throughout the book, the reality of baking for profit is confronted squarely, with the pros and cons honestly addressed. Michelle becomes a friend by the end of the book and I am so glad that I met her.

Michelle has a awesome blog also called "The Business of Baking
Every cake artist should buy this book! Beginners and pro's you all need to read Michelle Green's new book. Michelle has a awesome blog also called "The Business of Baking, and being a part of this and being a hobbyist baker everything I am reading and learning is teaching me how to be a better baker, and will be a tremendous help when I do make the decision to become a cottage law baker. The only thing I would change is having Michelle Green autograph the books.Again a great read, you will not be disappointed!
