Q: can it be programmed for more than one door

Yes. Mine is programmed to two doors. You just have to use a different number combination for each.

Q: Will this opener work for 2 separate garage doors using a different code for each one?

Are there any specific instructions to use this keypad with more than 1 garage? I was easily able to program 1 garage but when I hit the LEARN button twice on the second garage, it does not accept the new code that I'm trying to assign to it. Yes, I am using a different code than the 1st garage. Both motors are Liftmaster 8500. Please help! Thx

Q: Are the buttons backlit?

Yes, touch any button in dark to light up the keypad, then key in your four digit code. Opener ignores all input except for last four input, so that is how you can light up the keypad by touching any button on the keypad first.You will like this remote opener.

Q: will this work on a older craftsman, about a 2000 year model?

My home has a very old Craftsman opener from about 1990 (with a yellow button), and it worked for me. It took several tries of entering the code to program it, but it did work.
