but after placing it on some stacked books it looked fine.
Was really excited about this lamp but unfortunately it didn't work. I placed a brand new light bulb in the socket, plugged it in, and attempted to turn it on. It worked the first time, but the time after that, when I turned it on the light bulb blew. I thought it may be a faulty bulb, so I went to the store and bought another brand new bulb and this time, it blew the first time I tried to turn it on. Had to return. It was also a lot shorter than I expected, but after placing it on some stacked books it looked fine.

Tiny! It looks like someone shrunk it down. Much smaller than I anticipated. I should have read the reviews: nice for a small desk, too small for a side table.
