Just Buy It
If you're reading this review, you're probably on the fence about purchasing this knife. Well, let me give you a little shove. Get off the fence, put this in your cart, and buy it. I can't say anything negative about this sloyd knife. The handle size, fit, grip, and weight make this an incredible value for the money. I currently have three of these. I use them primarily for spoon carving. The knife comes razor sharp out of the box and will stay that way with a little bit of stropping. If the strop won't bring back the razor sharp edge, a few passes on a 1000 grit diamond stone and a bit of stropping will. I have no trouble getting and keeping the edge sharp enough to shave the hairs off my arm.Can you buy a nicer sloyd? Yep. But do you really need to? I'm very happy with my Moraknivs. I think my next one will be the blade only without the handle so I can make a custom handle just for the fun of it

great knife, but could be sharper
When I started carving larger objects, I needed a longer knife than the Flexcut Detail Knife I have been using for a year, and I like this one a lot. However, despite other reviewers talking about how sharp it is out of the box, it did not seem to cut as well as the Flexcut. However, as I have continued to use it, stropping at the beginning of every session as I have always done with the other, it has gotten better, to the point that it will carve thin shavings like a plane.

If you're considering it, buy it
I own a ton of knives. But I'd never considered how great the bevel on this would be for woodworking until it was recommended to me. It's a totally different tool.I'm sure there are fancier ones and cheaper ones. I wouldn't bother with either. Just buy this. If you're even looking at this, you'll love it.The blade is great out of the box and holds an edge well. It is so easy to hone freehand because of the huge bevel. I mostly just touch it up after longer sessions with a fine grit or just a strop. I only have had to really sharpen once because of a very abusive mistake against concrete. It is really comfortable in the hand. Like "you don't think about the tool while you use it" comfortable. Just an instant extension of the body.It complements chisels well for finer work and leaves a perfect tool mark free finish. I played with carving green wood and that was a blast. I imagine if you're into whittling or spoons it would be perfect. I've mostly used it on dry hard and soft woods for detail, tight curves, touching up chamfers, etc. It works well with and across the grain. The only downside is that the sheath is plastic. I'll probably replace that at some point, but it works fine and it's not like that was some kind of surprise. The sheath is still well made for what it is. I've never put it on my belt, though. I can't dock it for that. But a nicer sheath will be nice, because I'd like to have it near me whenever I'm working.

Arrived Rusty
Good steel and assembly, but it arrived quite rusty, which was somewhat disappointing.

Excellent carving knife!
Fits great in the hand, very easy to maneuver, and razor sharp out of the box. It cuts through basswood like butter, too. Very smooth and very clean cuts. It's very sturdy and well made and is a simple but very beautiful tool. 100% recommended.

Perfect match of handle and blade.
Perfect combination of the right size of handle & right size of blade. It’s the perfect knife for carving with finesse where you need to make delicate cuts. It good for trimming small limbs off branches & really every thing you need it for great all around knife. I’m 100% satisfied.

Fits your hand nicely
Handl is perfect for all hand sizes. It comes razor sharp out of the box. Slender blade gets you into those tight places. Great as a n cool knife too. You can use it on a ferro rod. The scandi grind makes it easy to hone with a leather strop and green compound. Overall quality is great. The only issue I have is with my he sheath. I wish it fit better because it’s used on several knife models and doesn’t fit like it should. So now I’m having to make one with wood and leather. Maybe mora could remedy this. It would be worth the extra couple dollars
