Exactly what I was hoping for
Synthetic rubber cutting boards are in general expensive, and this one is less costly due to the brand and the medium size. I wanted this board for prepping ingredient for and making sushi. It is perfect. I am able to cut through ingredients in ways I cannot as easily do with a rigid cutting board like one made of glass, and it is substantially nicer to use than a plastic/nylon board.I have seen zero staining and cut marks after multiple uses, so this appears to be even more durable than I expected. Clean up is easy, and much better and more sanitary than a wooden board.

Good for value
Recently discovered rubberized cutting boards and purchased a medium size. It is easy to clean and supposedly good for edge retention. I have had no issue with smells. The board did get a little stained from cutting vegetables but that isn't an issue for me personally. It is a hard rubber and doesn't grip onto or cause the knife to "bite." For the same reason it still slides around on the countertop surface but the usual wet towel or nonslip mat fixes that.

Healthy But Could Be Better
I bought this after some extensive research on cutting board materials and how they affect our health. For a long time, we were using Ikea plastic cutting boards, and hearing about how the microplastics from those boards mix in with our food turned me away from those boards completely. Wooden cutting boards are healthier, but then they warp. They also trap bacteria. Imagine my excitement when I learned about Japanese rubber cutting boards. They're a higher price point, but I happily paid it since they are supposed to be better for us and will last longer. The board came as shown. I bought the large, and I'd say it's a tad bit small. It's hard to cut meat or veggies without pieces sliding off just because there isn't enough room. I do love that, per what I've read, this board is a healthier option, so I feel great about using it. The board stained pretty quickly - within months -- and it won't wash off, and it's warping just ever so slightly after a few months.Overall, it's a decent option, and I'm going to continue using it.

Chef style board
I absolutely love this cutting board. Easy to keep clean, does not require any treatment like wood boards. Easy on knives makes keeping knives sharp longer. Thickness is perfect!

Happy with the cutting board
This is my first rubber cutting board. Coming from glass and wood. Like that it doesn't dull blades as much glass and don't have to worry about it shattering. Better than wood since I can use it for meat and vegetables without having to worry about it retaining bacteria.

Warped after 2 weeks of daily use, hand washed and air dried
This Asahi cutting board warped very quickly with daily use - my estimate of 2 weeks was me being generous. I had only been washing it by hand and leaving it on the rack to dry. My smaller rubber cutting board from another brand does not have this problem. You can see in my photo that the board is no longer level. It spins around, thus increases your chances of cutting yourself. I almost did cut myself, which compelled me to ask Amazon for a full or partial refund. However, I asked to keep the board as I intended to use it to the end of its life (save the environment and all that). The Live Chat associate said that they would process a full refund, but I did not receive it after one week. I followed up with Live Chat again; they now required a physical return. I declined since that would leave me without a cutting board at the moment. Furthermore, this clearly used board with cut marks all over it would probably end up in a landfill.I recommend looking elsewhere for your next cutting board.
