I bought these as I had a deep and relatively large splinter in my left index finger. The point is very sharp, and it was effective, cutting away thin layers of skin until I could get to the splinter, which I removed with splinter tweezers. These worked far better and were easier to use than a needle, which would have been my standard procedure. As a woodworker, I get splinters more than most folks, and it is nice to have an effective and sterile tool option. These are a good value and bring quick relief.
