Remote is legit. But I initially was frustrated because the pointer was not working. After a few days I reread the instructions and I press and held the guide button for 5 to 10 seconds. Then on the top right hand corner of the TV it said that the remote was registered and the pointer started to work.

I received this remote and it would not work with my TV. It offered basic universal remote functionality, but none of the advanced LG-specific features like voice recognition and motion control. I spoke with LG tech support and worked with them through all possible steps and they told me that this was not a functional remote, even though it should be. I returned it for a replacement and had the exact same experience again. This are not legit LG remotes.

I bought this one and the only way to get the pointer on the screen is to push in the scroll wheel, but it will not move around at all. And when you want to turn up the volume, sometimes it will just go to 100% volume automatically. I clicked the button twice and all of a sudden the volume was maxed out from 25 to 100. I returned this one and ordered another replacement hoping it was just a bad remote, but I ended up with the same exact result (no pointer control and volume problem). I cannot return the second one because I need a remote, so looking for another one.

After getting the wrong remote, this new one works the way it was supposed to. Set-up a breeze, and all the features work as they are supposed to. About darn time. Now to send back the wrong one.

Remote control did not work as expected. Volume and channel buttons worked but stuck sending selection into infinity until touched again. Magic control cursor did not move. Used batteries really fast. I only write reviews if really satisfied or upset. First one ever written on amazon.

Straight out of the package, unwrapped the batteries...and it's eager to start controlling your TV. Give it 30 secs, it'll be calibrated. Give 30 more secs, it'll update its firmware. Now you are good to do anything your were doing with your original remote. That simple, hands down.

This was advertised and sold as the remote with the smart cursor/ pointer and definitely does not have that.
