The media could not be loaded.  First off, like many other reviews have said, the LeD light is garbage. I suspect it’s the 6” cord they provided (without a plug) is just too cheap to connect properly.Second, we returned our first kit and got a replacement due to the faulty LED light but also because everything died after we fed them.The spoon they supply has two sides - one that looks like a spoon, and another with a tiny circle on it. DO NOT use the bigger side to measure out the food!!!! Like many other reviews have stated, one spoonful turns the whole tank green and everything dies. With this second kit, we used the other side of the spoon and basically put the tiniest bit of food imaginable…which makes sense because these things are so tiny! So far…so good! We’ve had them a week and everyone is growing and happy. My daughter leaves a flashlight by the tank to give them light and watch them.

This product is super cute! Light works, does not leak. But I tried doing this like 3 times and first 2 times the Sea Pets died about 3 to 5 days later. If you look at the other kits like this for example Sea Monkeys, they have 3 small packs that come with their kits. 1. Water purifier 2. Live eggs. 3. Food. The pack that these are missing is the water purifier. I purchased just the regular Sea monkey packs as I know we need the water purifier, and Voila!! They are Live and been 2 weeks. Hydro Pets--- take note in order for your pets to live and to have more good reviews you need 3 packets. 1 water purifier, which has to sit in the water for 24-36 hours before putting packet 2. Live eggs in. Then 3. Growth food.

My daughter was very excited to use some of her spending money to purchase this kit. It came all packaged in a box that would be good for gifting. She excitedly read through the detailed instruction booklet before setting up the tank. We got distilled water and were thrilled when we saw little itty bitty teeny tiny hatchlings appear within the first day. She blew bubbles into their tank, and then after the said amount of time in the booklet (a few days) she fed them a small spoon of the enclosed algae. The tank became dirty and smelly and by day 4 all appearances of life had diminished. My daughter is so disappointed at she followed the directions so closely, and we were still met with defeat.

My daughter was over the moon to get this as a gift. She was so excited to set this up and watch her new "pets" grow. The tank is cute and has a nice color-changing LED light. We followed the directions exactly, but the little guys never grew beyond "baby" stage. They had all disappeared in less than a week. I bought a refill kit from a different company (Sea Monkeys), and that one came with a water conditioner. Ever though we used bottled water, maybe this way will work better....wish us luck...

This is a very aesthetically pleasing product. The setup is easy. At first I accidentally got sent one without the eggs, but their customer service helped me out really quickly and got some sent to me.

Fun setup, and whole concept is great. Only downfall… this is the 2nd one I have purchased. One as a gift and 1 for my children. All instructions were followed and when the pets were fed for the first time they died. Same thing happened with the one gifted. Don’t know what causes this but it happens.
