Great little lights for the money!
I bought two of these for two 5 gallon cube shaped tanks.They fit perfectly and are strong enough to light the entire cube and support the plants growing in there.They also are at least somewhat waterproof...ask me how I know, LOL. I accidentally dropped one end of one in the tank while on, and thankfully nothing happened, phew!I have not really taken advantage of the different light options, but there are three or four different settings available.I like how big the switch is. It's easy to see and grasp in the back of the tank, among all the other cable jungle back there, LOL!

Nice little lights for a 5 gallon tank.
I just got these, so I can't say just how long they will last, I'll update this review if they do not. But as for now, they are bright, seem as if they will do well for keeping my plants healthy in the tank.

Perfect except one problem when using it with a timer...
The media could not be loaded. This fits great on top of my 5 gallon hiro aquatics cube. I use it with a mechanical timer for the outlet. It works well right out of the box HOWEVER it has a single button control for all of its functions. And the mechanism changes modes every time it's turned off and on. Cool, red, full spectrum. This cycles even when it's the power being turned off via the outlet timer. So every morning (if I care) I have to click it to get the lighting I prefer, because when it turns off at night and back in in the morning, it's changed. When I go out of town, it will be changing lighting modes each day. That doesn't bother me, because the price is good for a light that works and fits. But it might be a consideration for someone who is looking to have complete hands-off consistency.

Good size for new tank
The media could not be loaded. Did not give enough light for tank I originally bought it for. I purchased this 8 gallon AIO tank that was supposed to come with a light and did not have one. (I reviewed this tank as well). Rather than send the tank back I threw this light on it. It turned out to be perfect. Glad I decided to keep it as a spare.

Def doesn’t expand like it says
I really like this light but it is not able to extend like mentioned and never seen anything about timer(this review asked about a timer) or have any instructions. I have to put it sideways on my tank instead of across it completely. It’s just too short. I will keep it though because right now it is easier to keep it then to have to take it and ship back and get a new one. Still disappointing but is a pretty color

Bought for a 3 gal seamless tank for a betta and works great for live plants.

Overheats
Good size and does the job but rapidly overheats when I turn it on. Not sure if I received a defective one. Do not recommend.

Great Plant Light, One Adjustment Suggestion
I've actually been using these for a pair of enclosures since I couldn't find small scale lights for their planted enclosures at the time. The lights on both units I got are bright and even make for nice ambient lighting in my critter room, assembly (attaching the mounts) was easy and they stay in place while being easy to adjust to fit the smaller enclosures I use them for. The units don't get all that hot like a larger unit I have for another enclosure despite running for 12hrs a day. These are fantastic as the plants in the enclosures have taken off over the year and it's safe to say I would be more than happy to purchase more for future projects as they're highly effective and a great deal in terms of value.My only want for these is a version with a timer and light intensity/dimmable features as these didn't quite play nice with my timers (I run my critter room on an automated system to replicate natural environments as much as possible) and it would be great if they could replicate a natural day and night cycle as having such a feature is extremely beneficial to the health of both plants and animals be they terrestrial or aquatic.

Great light
It was hard to find such a small light, I wanted to use this for a tall vase to grow val (aquatic plant). Works great, no complaints!
