I opted for this as I require a small trustable blade for my pencils required in regular art and sketching work in my profession. The blade is quite sharp. But the problem is the technology. The knife is handy no doubt but very unsafe. The blade does not have any locking mechanism and keeps sliding back and forth while you are trying to sharpen a pencil or slice paper. As a result I have in spite of being a good knife user from any type of knife in camping to sharpening pencil, I could not control the blade in this one. Because the blade is a thin sharp of high carbon material and just is dependent on a hinge to go back in the handle, it moves both ways and is pretty sharp to leave deep marks. So for children this is just to dangerous. I would expect Nataraj to increase the price by Rs. 5 if needs and just introduce a thin spring metal to secure the blade in position once the blade is out. Only this much will make this a very handy piece of tool for everyday easy to carry and easy to use..
