Great covered pan – perfect for meals for two
When my kids were at home, I used a 5 quart covered saute pan to cook most meals. Once they moved and it was just my husband and myself, I started looking for a good non-stick pan with a lid that would work for making meals for two. After many different pans, I found this pan by Maker. As I own other Iris products, I figured that the quality would be high and it is. The pan is stainless steel with a non-stick ceramic coat. It has a sturdy handle and hand grip. The lid is glass with a strong top handle.I've used my pan for several months now and the non-stick works as well today as it did when I first bought it. I do hand wash all of my pots and pans and use only non-metal utensils in it.It is the perfect size for two good size pork chops, two burgers and three chicken boneless skinless chicken breasts or two regular bone-in breasts. I like to cook three boneless at the same time, reserving the third for use in salad the next day (saves time and energy to cook them all at the same time.Clean up is very easy. I essentially wipe the pan out with a sponge. I liked this pan so well, I came back to buy a second one. I found that I wanted to use this pan for different components of the same meal, so a second pan made sense for my use.

Perfect size/Hard to clean
It's hard to give a review on this. The quality is nice, it works well with my convection range, it is absolutely the perfect size for a pot or rice or other small things. BUT my complaint is the lid. I'm OK with the glass, but the moisture and oil/butter collect under the rim. It is very hard to dry and keep clean. I have to take a paper towel and clean up under the rim to get rid of the moisture that collects there. Rather a big pain, but I will probably not look for a replacement as this particular size is hard to find in something other than a set. At least in convection cookware.

Good choice for ceramic non-stick
I am very satisfied with this set of ceramic-coated stainless steel pots and pans. Previously I have only used PTFE (Teflon) coated cookware, the ceramic coating on these pans has much better non-stick properties; when I rinse them off, it looks like rain rolling off of a freshly waxed car.Update: I've had these for 18 months now and they are still in great shape, using them about twice a week. I wondered why some reviews say they don't last, but mine are still like new; I think it's because of a few things that I do differently.1) I almost never use the dishwasher - these are extremely easy to hand wash, the food rinses right off.2) They are always stored with pan separators in place, to prevent contact between the ceramic and other surfaces.3) I have all soft silicone utensils, no hard plastic, no wood, no metal.I had a few features of interest that led me to this set:- Non-stick ceramic coating - I wanted to get away from teflon, but am admittedly not skilled enough to use real stainless cookware.- Clear glass lids, rather than solid metal lids.- Stainless steel was my preferred finish, and it was important that the pans have no plastic parts.- The aluminum core was important to me because my electric range heats normal pans very unevenly, these pans really do a great job of distributing the heat. The look and feel is excellent, I expect these pans to last me a very long time as long as the coating is well cared for. I will update if I experience any problems.

Substantial
Nice skillet! If feels substantial in the hand. The thick base distributes the heat evenly when cooking on my electric stove top. So far, everything I have cooked has slid right off the surface including some sausages that got a bit to brown. The flare of the lip makes it more of a challenge to flip veggies getting sauteed into the air but that is a small issue. Clean-up is a breeze although the stainless bottom will be harder to keep shiny. If the skillet survives usage over time (and early indications are that it will) than it will be a nice value.

Don't waste your money
I've always bought the cheaper Teflon pans which last about six months before they start to stick. I thought I'd buy a top of the line pan and keep it for years. This pan didn't make it three months before it started sticking. Almost $70 and the thing sticks like a $15 cheapo pan! What a screaming rip off! Wish I could give this thing a negative five. Don't waste your money. I think all these positive ads were placed by people who haven't run into the short life of this pan yet. Why am I reviewing this pan so late? Because I put it in the garage to throw away but found it on a shelf when I was cleaning the garage this morning. I even tried cooking with it once more just to be sure I was correct. I used olive oil, low heat and tried to cook two eggs.

Decent, but limited life.
Decent pans that have a limited life. After about a year, they started to stick and bad. I've got this skillet, a smaller one and a sauce pan. Everything but the sauce pan sticks. Too bad, I loved them at the beginning. I can't recommend them to anyone looking for a longterm solution.

not non-stick for eggs
Heats up quickly and retains heat well. Very non-stick surface that is easy to cook with and clean. Worth the extra money.Update: eggs stuck on pan after a few months of use. Disappointed.

Quality
This all Stainless body pan is real high quality, heavy gauge, polished to a mirror. This 2 qt is a DEAL. With the quality comes a good weight to the pot, it's not aluminum, though the base has the aluminum clad inside for disturbing heat. Worked great on my induction !
