The recipe it comes with is excellent, I saw no need to change it. If you are using the bowl maker you have to make sure you do not make the waffle to big or it won't fit. If you want a bigger bowl you can use a tortilla bowl mold and press the cone in that to shape it. You do have to cook the cone longer the the green light indicates to get the excess moisture out. Judge your time accordingly so that you don't burn the cone. Rolling the cones takes a little practice, but this is not a cooking show so just have fun. I had no problems with this item and would recommend it. Be sure to read the manual and use a silicone spatula. I jave used them the next day amd they are a little soft. I haven't experimented with other recipes yet though. I have been very happy with my machine. **Q: Can it make crepes also?** A: I don't see why not. I haven't tried crepes, that would have to be an awful thin batter. Why not give it a try...all you'll lose is a small batter. Mine cooks on half the batter the other half never gets brown.
