I used this to add an external USB jack to a Tempest Arcade Cabinet, which now hosts a MAME emulator. Can plug in joystick for other games. As others have noted, the USB plug doesn't seem to go in all the way. That's fine, but could be a problem on a moving vehicle, maybe? For some reason the Q&A for this product won't give a straight answer for hole size. I used an 18.5mm sheet metal hole cutter drill bit, and the USB jack bits perfectly. So there's your answer. 18.5mm hole makes a nice tight fit. Could probably go a millimeter bigger and still be fine. Attached a handful of pictures with various measurements.

You really need to know the diameter of your cars opening before buying anything like this. Purchased for a 99 Mazda b2500 which is basically a ford ranger and it is way to small. Used the hack of wrapping in electrical tape to make it fit tight but after a couple months the tape is getting hot and allowing this to pull out of position. As for functionality it has worked well. No issues at all with the iPhone 12 Pro but I really think this style of plug is for a custom hole you drill yourself not an existing on from the factory. So I’ll be purchasing another that has a plastic piece that screws onto the back and holds it securely in place. It’s a few more dollars but worth it for a nice tight fit.

Works perfectly! This was exactly what I needed for what U was trying to do. I own a 2000 Jeep and wanted to update the radio with something that had Android Auto and possibly cameras. This adapter allowed me to extend the radio connection to a flush mounted USB C input.

If you are looking for it to fit in an existing hole, it most likely won’t fit. If you’re drilling a new hole then it’s all good. Unfortunately it would didn’t work for me & it did not have any kind of dimensions for me go off of. So that’s the reason for the 3 star.

Used this to update a USB plug on my car stereo. Works well but only slow charges phone but android auto works perfectly. Excellent price for what I needed. Easy install.

Just what was needed for a factory look in an older minivan. For a CarPlay or Android Auto in-dash receiver, the smartphone needs to be plugged in for full functionality. Instead of a loose USB cord hanging out of the dashboard, this unit will provide a factory look. For a 2nd generation Toyota Sienna, I removed one of the two 12v accessory receptacles and replaced with this unit. I used clear caulk to hold it in firmly. Works perfectly.

Works great, doesn't look bulky. I wish it fit better into the vehicle it is designed for; it sticks out a bit and you really have to push it in, possibly damaging your internals in your vehicle.
