Flavor is good for my toddler, but I choose to use pure xylitol in water for more cost effective use, with less ingredients.
I just wrote a review of a 5lb bag of pure xylitol and was reminded that I compared it as a much better value than this gel product. I never write reviews but xylitol has been at the front of my thoughts for a while now. I started with this tooth gel and I will say that my toddler likes the flavor and I had no problem using it on her. However, I've read the studies that indicate a need roughly 5 grams of xylitol throughout the day for effective cavity fighting. I don't know what percentage this gel has but it's also obviously filled with water and other gelling ingredients. So that makes it hard to calculate. And of course more importantly, the price is prohibitive to use in suck a frequent way. Again, it's not a bad way to introduce xylitol at first. Now though, I mix a teaspoon of pure xylitol in a small amount of water and I either let my toddler sip it from a small cup after eating or nursing or I use a squirt syringe thing (what they give you for baby medicine dosing) if she's laying down and ready to nap. She's very okay with the taste of plain xylitol water. It's sweet like sugar without aftertaste so flavoring isn't necessary. Just a dab of crystals could work too, but I would rather have the water solution rinse over her teeth to combat food particles in between brushings, and it keeps me using the same amount every day.All in all, a good product to try, maybe keep in your bag for after lunch outings, but we've moved on to buying xylitol in bulk. I prefer not having additional unnecessary ingredients and I get to use the plain xylitol in my coffee.

The baby loves it!!
This product was highly recommended by our dentist for our baby who got her first tooth at 6 months. Xylitol is a substance that is made in your body, none toxic and reduce the number of bacteria in your mouth. As you can imagine, rinsing and spitting toothpaste out is not an option with an 8 month old baby, so we were happy that this product is as natural as it comes without any unnecessary ingredients. The paste is very watery, almost like a gel and does not have much flavor. She actually loves having her teeth brushed and sees it as a bit of playtime. Well, the banana brush may have to do something with that.We did try a competing Xylitol brand with some flavoring and the baby seemed to not like it as much, plus we were concerned about all the artificial flavoring. For the price you get two tubes which will last you a very long time. It is a bit more expensive, but I feel this product fits my concerns well, and above all, the baby just loves it.

This is awesome for teeth plague
My dentist went to a seminar & learned that Xylitol helps reduce dental plague in mouth. Who would ever think???? Anyway, they gave me some samples at first of the Xylitol gum to try but I prefer this toothpaste and the Spry oral spray rinse. I use the toothpaste in the evening and spray the rinse in my mouth 2-3 times a day. After doing this a couple months my dental exams have improved considerably with very little plaque anywhere in my mouth. I also have several bridges where plaque likes to cling to and hide. I didn't believe this would work at first but it does. Yes this stuff is expensive but it lasts a while & saving my teeth from decay is a far more important to me & saves me lots of money in the long run. My last 3 dental cleanings still show hardly any plaque so I will continue to use these products.

The kid approves!
I was really surprised as I started looking for fluoride-free toddler toothpastes, at the many strong opinions surrounding them! Some claim fluoride free "training" toothpastes don't really do anything for the teeth, others that are supposed to clean have abrasives too hard for developing enamel, or contain bentonite clay, which some say contains unsafe levels of lead. Another review recommended Spry, so I decided to try it. Simple ingredient list, xylitol, the "active" ingredient, if you want to call it that, is at least shown not to promote cavities, and may in fact reduce them (studies are inconclusive according to the ADA: http://www.aapd.org/media/Policies_Guidelines/P_Xylitol.pdf).This tooth gel has no flavor, is mildly sweet, and clear. We use just a dab on a Radius Totz toothbrush.

Good product, need better flavors
My only complaint about this product is that my children's mouth breath is not as fresh smelling after the kids use it. Weleda's brand was much more minty and fresh smelling, but I abandoned it after I found a lawsuit and a settlement about lead contaminants and levels and looked into the company's monitoring policies and procedures. I wish they would make a mint flavored version. The other flavors Banana and strawberry sound too sweet to leave a fresh smelling minty mouth feel. So for now, this is the best I can give this product.

Only Toothpaste my kids will use
I have incredibly picky children and they have rejected every other type of toothpaste I have brought home. They are happy to use this one and even say it tastes good!

Excellent ewg raiting!! Good flavor.
Clear gel, easy to get just a little bit. My toddler likes the taste. Handy to have two tubes- one for upstairs one for downstairs. Very highly rated on ewg.com!!

Giraffe toothpaste
Only toothpaste my 7 year old daughter likes. I don't have to worry about her not spitting it out as it has no fluoride and she now doesn't mind brushing her teeth. I took off one star because the tubes are too small for the price, but I will keep buying it as long as my daughter likes it.

Great for babies
Started using this toothpaste when my little one was a few months old and still using it now that she is 2. No flavour, just a sweet taste and the efficiency of xylitol. No need to spit it out. And the giraffe on the packaging is obviously very popular!

Excellent
Kids seem to like the flavour which we have often found a problem with non-minty toothpastes. Good alternative to flouride toothpaste for kids and safe if they swallow it.

Bought the wrong flavour by accident but it was ok. Kids are fine with it and it does not matter if they eat it.
