My life was hanging by this and it worked.
I used this to do the dumbest thing I've ever done: my own tree removal. I had this strapped around the tree and onto either side of a YXGOOD harness to hold me. I had very insufficient foot holds, and used this to tie myself on. Twice while doing work I twisted the chainsaw bar and made the chain pop off. Rather than descend to do the work on the ground, I just leaned back and fixed the chain. Only my feet and this belt were holding me onto the tree. I had 100% trust in this thing, and it didn't let me down (badumpss).Adjusting it to allow me to scale the tree but stay securely attached was easy. The screw carabiners were not perfectly made, but more than sufficient. I would have no issue with using this thing again.

I felt very comfortable clipping some limbs
This is some cheap insurance when doing tree work.I had a tree that was dying, and looking to go the 'wrong' way.I climbed up a ladder 20', swung this around the tree, and strapped on (also using the MSA 3-ring harness). After that, I felt very comfortable clipping some limbs, then hauling up a chain and cable to use for guiding that tree in the right direction with a tractor, while we cut it down (I came down to drive the tractor for that part). There was no fall to test the strength of this, so I can't attest to whether it can catch and hold a 230lb nut falling out of a tree. The webbed strap seems plenty strong though, so I felt safe. The steel carabineers feel very study too. And, I really like that the carabineers lock closed. The locking mechanism could be smoother, but I was able to run them one-handed.Any day you aren't featured on YouTube is a good day.

Works exactly as expected and easy to use
I purchased this along with [MSA Safety 10096481 Style 3-D Harness Vest] to climb trees on my property, topping them so as to cut them down without damaging other trees.I had no experience with using either, but this climbing strap just flat out works, is easy to use and learn and I felt very secure leaning back with my arms free to use the saw.The adjusting mechanism is well designed, secure and will release easily for making adjustments. It has plenty of extra length in it for your larger trees ... there are no trees anywhere around that this strap won't encircle [and if there were, I doubt I'd be climbing them].Highly recommend this climbing belt.

Not something I would really recommend for using more than once or twice a year
For what it is, at the price point it's at, it works ok, not too hard to adjust in a tree. BUT, it will get hard to adjust once you've been up a couple pine trees, with sap everywhere. Not something I would really recommend for using more than once or twice a year. If you need a lanyard, you're better off with a rope lanyard, or a steel core flipline, especially if you're going to be running a saw.

It worked fine. I didn't fall so no complaints but it ...
It's basically a made in china seat belt with small carabiner ends. It was cheap. It worked fine. I didn't fall so no complaints but it didn't impress me either. Mostly it's hard to flip for tree climbing. It can be cut instantly with a pocket knife never mind a chain saw buckle. It will hold you in place but it's kind of a 2 hand process to adjust.

It's The ultimate insurance policy. I used this strap ...
It's The ultimate insurance policy. I used this strap to put up two stands this past season and having hands free is a miracle and a Much safer option. I did replace the carribeaners with Hunter Safety Systems version, but the ones it comes with are equally as capable, Just my preference. Don't risk a fall, I hear it's rather hard to hunt from a hospital bed....

Great Climbing Belt - Adjustable Too!
I needed a new climbing belt in preparation for an upcoming hunting trip. This device was exactly what I needed and more. It is adjustable in length so one can tailor ones fit to the tree and the desired amount of distance you want to be from the tree. Workmanship and quality is great. I am pleased with this purchase.
