Q: will this work with a kenwood TS440S?

I use it with a TS2000, but looking at the specs for a TS440S it appears that it would function just fine. - AD4ET

Q: When using this with ham radio deluxe, and the kenwood ts-2000 does this hardware properly key the acc2 mike connection on back of radio?

Since the usb connector with the SLUSB13K is a sound device only and not a RS232 device it keys using a vox type of circuit. When it detects a sound output from your computer it keys the appropriate line on the ACC2 connector. The unit has a delay control to adjust the time delay in unkeying. There is no RS232 device so it does not support RTS or DTR keying . If you are using Ham Radio Deluxe for CAT control you might be disappointed if you attempt to use the CAT transmit command while using the ACC2 connector. For some reason the engineers at Kenwood decided to disable CAT transmit control on the TS-2000 when the ACC2 is used for audio input. N5KBP
