I have used these scuba reels in the past for anchoring my kayak. There are some pros and cons to this one when compared to others.PROS:- Built very strong- The locking mechanism is the best I have seen- Unit is much smaller than others (handy, fits under my seat)CONS:- The line is significantly lighter than on the larger reels, not really the fault of the seller as you have to give something up to make 150 ft of line fit on such a small spool. I am therefore skeptical that it will survive the season without the line snapping the first time my anchor snags up.Overall, I would buy this again and i may spool some different line on it, perhaps put 100ft of stronger line.

Nice and compact, appears to be of hard wearing materials. Auto lock is a nice feature too.

Perfect for anchoring my kayak, safe and easy, strong enough to hold me and kayak for hrs in a 6 knot tide
