Each page has a list of questions like where you saw the bird, what was the season, etc. He is just learning to write and the amount of writing is just perfect. The questions are engaging. He's already logged several back yard birds. He likes looking at the tips and digrams in the book as well. It is very helpful to have a bird guide to go with this book as it doesn't contain pictures of birds. It's only designed to record info on birds already identified.
