As good as my old black diamond
It’s absurd how light this thing isIs it the most powerful longest life light noIs it more powerful than my black diamond storm headlamp I bought a few years back oh yeah way brighterNormally I appreciate the red leds those times you just need dim light like in a tent or working in an enclosed reflective space where a bright white light will just blind youBut I do find myself wishing this headlight had a spot flood option in just white but again at this price that’s honest nit picking these one I mainly use for working on small electronics or under the hood of my truckIt’s only a headband light so it’s not quite as stable as one with the over the top band. Not having that over the top band means I probably won’t use this for running because it does tend to walk it’s way down into my line of sight. That’s not a big deal when working on something but would be annoying running but I knew this going in buying this headlampThis isn’t the best headlamp but at its price point it’s amazing and worth every penny

Thank the Maker -- No Forehead Strap
As a professional writer, I'm stingy with my reviews because writing is work to me. I only leave reviews when I receive a clever, beautiful or well-made product or if I hold great disdain for a ridiculous, foul or unworthy piece of merchandise that I've been shipped. The headlamp falls into the former category. What makes this lighted wearable different -- save for the fact that there's no annoying middle strap that runs over the top of your forehead and dismantles your hairstyle to the point of forever changing the permanent part in your hair, these headlamps also run on rechargeable batteries powered by USB cords, which the seller actually (gasp) provides. Why, thank you kindly, seller.I purchased four of these headlamps after living through a lampless hurricane last year. When the package arrived, each of the four boxes contained TWO USB cords, which was surprising I suppose this is in case you lose one or if someone swipes one to charge bluetooth speakers. One can never have too many USB cords, I always say.To charge the headlamps, it's best accomplished if one is not wearing them at the time. Stop laughing.Just plug one end of the cord into the headlamp under the rubber flap and the other into your laptop/computer or into a wall charger. When the light turns from red to green, charging is complete.Like me, the lamp has three power settings -- low, high and SOS. The beam can be tilted so the light isn't blinding the person in front of you. Or, depending upon your mood, it can be aimed so it is.Most of you have already determined how I feel about this product but for those two of you still uncertain (Hi Aunt Rose and Uncle Bill), rest assured that this headlamp is comfortable, well made and well packaged.Cheers.

Well built, and light. Just stick to car camping, or front country treks.
It's very light, not quite ultra light, but I definitely forget I'm wearing it. I actually looked around for it while it was strapped around my hat this weekend! It remembers which mode you last left it on, so no accidental blinding of yourself or companions. You also don't have to cycle through all the lighting settings to turn it off, once a setting is selected for about 1.5 seconds.Wore it in light steady rain for over an hour, and not so much as a flicker, so it's well constructed. I'm still on the fence about not being able to exchange the batteries, but I'm slowly taking to carrying battery banks instead of extra batteries. I'm usually stuck in my ways, but I'm hoping I'll soon be able to ditch my redundant backups as I prove this battery bank/recharge on the fly system viable.Would I trust my life with it? Absolutely not. I have nicer, more expensive lights for those kind of treks. Is it a great option for a weekend warrior that car camps, or spends most of their time in the front country? Maybe even as a spare or backup? For sure, without a doubt. It's inexpensive, well constructed for the price, and light. I, myself, just wouldn't trust it in the backcountry. Maybe it's just the cheap price that's giving me apprehensions.

Good price, outstanding customer service, very light, bright, and compact for backpacking
I love these lights! My current life situation had allowed me a bunch of free time to do whatever this summer, so I am on a long term camping trip. These are very lightweight, very bright, and compact. One of my favorite features, is how you do not need to cycle thru all light modes every time you turn it on, by default it just goes to the last used mode you were on.Now I was originally a bit disappointed, because one of the lights that my girlfriend had been using just died and would not recharge. At the time, I was not going to even bother returning or exchanging it, because of the fact that I was (and still am) far from home, and it was too much of a hassle. But then I got an email from customer service asking to write a review, and I basically just said "you don't want me to write a review, because one lamp broke", and without me even asking for a replacement, they just sent a new lamp immediately. Unfortunately my girlfriend had tried to take the old one apart and fix it, then threw it out, because I told her I wasn't bothering to return. Anyways, that is great customer service the way that whole thing played out.So both lights are still working great at this point, and I liked them so much I ordered another for my father, as part of a few gifts I got him for fathers day. I am All around pleased with these lights, and have restored faith in the foxelli brand, due to outstanding customer service.
