Micro traxion has worked very well & happy with the product!

unless you're planning on top rope solo, there's no need to buy something this expensive..... it definitely does the job, and has been shown to de-sheath a rope at higher loads than other progress capture devices, but unless you plan on 4kn haul bag drops, there's no need to pay 4 times the cost of other options.

This device is commonly used for rope-soloing and ascending, and it does that well, BUT... this newer version has a lock-out feature that locks the barbed cam out of the way so you can use this as a bare pulley. If you climb on it like that, and fall, you'll die. The risk is that even when locked open, it can slightly grab the rope, so you may not realize it's not fully grabbing the rope. I always press the release a few times and tug on the MT a couple of times before trusting it, and it's still a little bit scary.
