Definitive All-Time Greatest Hits

When I was in college, John Denver wasn't exactly considered cool in the circles I ran with thus I was never a big fan, There was no escaping hearing hos music though. As I matured, I have come to realize great songs are great songs and this man wrote quite a few. Also, I now appreciate his voice too. Such clarity and range. So gakd I caught up before it was too late. This album has most every hit you would want

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool rock 'n roller and metalhead. However, I confess unabashedly a great affinity for John Denver's music. His craftsmanship as a songwriter, lyrically and melodically, is true genius ... he is right up there with his contemporaries such as Jim Croce and Harry Chapin. How very unfortunate that such a great trinity of songwriters all perished in transportation accidents well-before their time. As to this collection, it is first rate. Most every song you'd want of John Denver is here. The remastering is pristine and sounds great. My favorite Denver song is "Rocky Mountain High." I get goosebumps everytime I hear it, and its sound here is the best I've ever heard it. John Denver has been a guilty pleasure of mine since I was a little kid in the '70's, and this collection brings back a lot of good memories. If you are at all interested or enjoy fabulous music and singing, then you owe it to yourself to pick up this one. I'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed ... I know I'm not.

I have enjoyed most of the songs I have heard by John Denver on the radio over many years but I never owned any of his albums. After a loved one passed away a year ago I heard that John Denver was one of her favorite singers so I got this greatest hits album.

We like the music, but discovered that the last 3 songs on Disc 1 were not in the order listed on the cover, and one, "Wild Mountain Skies" would not play at all past the first few bars. We returned it and were sent a replacement, but it had the same problem. At that point we gave up and decided to just enjoy the music, minus the one song, but it makes us reluctant to order any other CDs from Amazon.

I was inspired to buy this CD because of my brother. He would call me on the phone just excited to be alive after hearing John's music. Mind you, he is a successful business guy who grew up listening to the Stones, Black Sabbath and good old Rock n Roll, but for some reason the sounds of John Denver called and he answered. Now, so have I. After hearing " I'm Leavin On a Jet Plane..don't know when I'll be back again" I was sucked in and I felt my spirits lift. John Denver's soft and light lyrics continue to dance in our hearts and lift our moods. This CD has all great hits that we remember. Sunshine on my shoulders (makes me happy), Annies song, Calypso, Fly away...you won't go wrong with this collection of John Denver's greats. I understand his music more now, than I ever have before. He was good to his core, and his music reflects who he was. A must own for a collection of any genre'.

I was never a 'fan' of John Denver in my growing up years. His music was a part of those years, but I took it for granted just hearing it on the radio. Now, some 20 years later, I can appreciate it more than ever. His beautiful mind, his thoughts, his feelings all come out in his music. My husband and I now own property in West Virginia and when I play 'Country Roads' it makes me cry. Because now I feel the love for that place just like he did when he wrote that heartfelt song. Take me home, country roads...to the place I belong - West Virginia! It makes my heart long for our beautiful mountain! All those songs of yesteryear now mean something to me. I love his style, his words, the arrangements. Just a must play cd long rides in the country or just listening to while cooking supper in the kitchen! Thanks John Denver for making songs that touch the heart!

It's John Denver, what is there not to like. Although I have all the tracks on other CDs this is great for my collection.

Love John Denver and this cd did not disappoint, great songs and very clear precise sound. Highly recommended if you are a John Denver fan.
