Cordless Jump Rope for tight space
well this is NOT a replacment for the regular jump rope ...just wanted to start off with this statmentProduct:well in short this is the jump rope with out the rop, with two balls that simulate the rope, with calorie counter , turns counter and time.now some would ask, whats the point?! or this is a silly productwell no actually not, if you know for what to use it,I have been jumping rope for more than 17 years now, its basically a basic in my daily workout routine, now the problem is that my work makes me travel alot and be in hotel rooms with not enough space, thats where it come in,its perfect when wanting to workout in a tight space but then again , i would never get it as a replacement for the regular jump ropealso I dont think it would help alot if your trying to learn jumping rope, my idea of learning is trial and error especially in jump rope till you get it right, you will never learn if there isnt a rope that will wack you if u dont jump rightnow to the pros and consPros:works in tight spacescalorie counter (though it will be not accurate , u need a heart monitor for that)counts jumpstimerCons:the weights of the balls does not simulate an accurate rope, i think they needed to make it a bit heavier, also it is not and will never be a replacement for the good old jump ropeit does not work well for learning, or atleast i think sofinal though:if you are a fanatic jump rope freak and have a problem with space, then this is for you,if you have enough space i would def recommend you getting the real thing,if you are learning also i would recommend you get the real thing, but knowing what you are buying it for I would give it a 3.5 stars, one star and half removed due that it doesnt siumulate the real thing quite accurately

Indoor Jump Roping
This is a nice little gadget that let's me jump rope in my apartment without taking out the light fixtures. You can program in your weight and set the timer, and the timer starts when you start jumping and swinging the handles. When the timer goes off the readout shows how many rotations you did in that time and the number of calories you burned. (And yes, you could just sit on the couch and whirl them around if you want and the device will assume you're jumping. For some reason that's the first question people ask when they see it at my house.) I like using mine once an hour when I'm working at my desk all day.If they ever do a 2.0 version, I would love to see a memory function so you don't have to reprogram your weight each time, plus an option of setting the alarm for calories burned or time exercised. Still, for the price this is a great deal.

Better workout than I imagined...
I was buying a few things, saw this cordless jump rope and decided to try it. I didn't expect to like it and thought it was a little silly. But I'm often in mobile environments (especially on a boat) and was looking for something that would work inside with low ceilings. After 3 weeks, I try to use it 1-2 times per week. It's actually a lot of fun and works really well. Since there's no "missing" that can happen with a real rope, it's actually a little better of a workout. I usually go for 25 minutes and find myself drenched in sweat by the end.It would be nice if the weight and time were remembered. It's not a big deal though. It seems well-enough made although I doubt it'll live for more than a year. The best way to use it is to crank up a set of good tunes especially on something like an iPod and just jump. I routinely burn 500+ calories every 25 minutes of use which is about as good as possible inside and stationary. All in all, I'm unexpectedly very happy with it. I think I'd like to get another backup once I've used it consistently for a few months.

Two stars because they did seem to work for a while.
I was actually among the first to purchase these cordless jump ropes when they became available on Amazon around the end of 2011. I workout a lot, and I thought these cordless, digital ropes were a wonderful idea! No slapping the ceiling or your surroundings with a rope, no worry of accidentally jumping on the rope and ruining your timing, etc. etc. Well, I used them every day for about three weeks, but then they stopped counting the jumps and therefore didn't work at all. I tried every combination of fixes to get them back up and working, and alas, they went in the trash after less than a month of use. So, I would strongly suggest investing your money in a good heart rate monitor that tracks calories burned while working out, and jumping to some steady paced music that will help you keep your timing. Please keep in mind, lots of people review after their first use, but this review comes from someone who used them for a month then wrote her review following their seriously premature break. Good luck in your search for the right exercise tool.

Not my favorite way to jump rope.
I almost prefer using hand weights or not having anything that I'm holding to using these. I have owned this product for a month, and used it 3 times. I had trouble figuring out how to get the chords to attach correctly to the handles. Also, I think I might have preferred a cordless jumping rope without the counter, as I normally jump rope for a certain number of minutes and don't count the repetitions.

So So
This product is ok not the best workout for me. It takes alot of effort to keep the balls going the right way so it tracks your laps right. And when it get off rythm the I have to stop jumping and try to get them rolling again. I wouldnt recommend it expecially if you dont have a lot of patients like me.

Spend a little more.
Works, I suppose. But the handle with the electronics in it is over twice as heavy as the one without. This makes it really awkward to use, and to keep both hands in sync. Very annoying. Really the handle without the electronics is so light that it's hard to use in general. For a few bucks more I would get a more...substantial piece of equipment.
