Good pack
This is a pretty good dog backpack. Just priced one at the pet store though not exactly like it, but close for $60. My dog weighs 44 lbs & it was a bit too big. So I think they are made for big breeds. The product has a good fit, well made. The backpacks are detachable but it would take time to remove during a hike. The small packs don't hold much I couldn't fit a standard bottle of water. I hike in a semi-dry hot area no water with 3 dogs my largest dog carries the water for the other two. I'm going to custom fit mine to my dog. Shorten straps for a snuger fit. Might even consider the addition of snap buckles on the packs to facilitate easier removeable of packs while on a hike without removing the entire back pack. You do have to balance the pack equal weight on either side or it will slide of to one side which is not comfortable for the dog. My dog didn't know what to think when I first saddled the pack on him he wouldn't move just sat there. So it will take a little adjustment time for the dog to get use to having something strapped to his back. He got use to it fairly quick during our first hike. Don't load the pack up the first time let the dog get use to wearing the pack. Gradually load the packs each time you hike until he is carrying the full weight load. Use common sense and don't over load.

Great packs, harness issues
It's nice to be able to start with small packs and work up to larger, but the harness itself had some issues for me. The straps were too large for my 50 lb pit. At their smallest setting, the harness is loose and there is no place to attach the long straps so they don't drag on the ground, so I tied them up but it is awkward. There is a buckle piece on the front strap that comes completely off and I almost lost it once. As long as you're aware of it you'll be fine, it is something you have to keep track of though. Lastly, make sure a saddle bag is good for your dog. Mine is so energetic that the saddle bags fall to one side and slides off frequently, just from walking through the woods.

Decent
I didn't really like the harness part. Fits measurement-wise but not as adjustable as I'd like. Not confident with its sturdiness so I would never use it as a walking harness. So far so good on the packs though. I actually took them and fitted them onto my dog's regular sensory harness. He didn't seem bothered by the packs at all. The packs are not quick-release though so you will be spending time crouching to change or adjust. We'll see how long it takes before the zippers bust.

Good product, too big for my 28 lbs dog
Loved the item and the two options for bags. However, my dog is a Collie/Brittany mix 28lbs and the harness was way too large for her frame, oven with the tighter adjustments. Too sad that I have to return. It doesn't seem like they have a smaller product available so I will need to look for an alternate option.

It doesn't stay evenly on my dog's back. Also, the leash hook is in the back end instead of the front end of the backpack, which is weird. It's cute though and it's good that it comes in both the big pouch and smaller pouch.

Works well! Takes some adjusting on a few outings to get it fitting just right, but it fits our 40 lb Welsh Springer Spaniel. We cut the excess straps and melted the ends with a match to prevent fraying. Needs to be balanced on both sides so it doesnt slip over to one side. The dog seems to enjoy it, and has always responded well to having a job to do. It takes some time to get the dog adjusted, but it has slowed him down and reduced his rambunctiousness when he meets other dogs, which is what we were hoping for. Doesnt come with directions, and we were a little confused about the ring in the back and wondered if we had it backwards (we had it right. ring goes in the back). We continue to use a leash and collar as before. I like the ability to change out the bags if we want. I'd buy it again.

Unfortunately this was way too large for our 40lb deep chested standard poodle. when he runs or even lopes even with every strap cinched tight, it slips and the saddle bags (the smallest ones) flop around, even when I tried to evenly weight them with my iphone on one side and a very tiny running water bottle of the same size/approx wieght. So bummed because I wanted to put this to lots of use on our snow shoeing adventures this winter.

Great dog backpack, very versatile!
The dog backpack with two sets of saddlebags was perfect for my six month old puppy. It's well made, sturdy and highly adjustable. After a few minutes my dog adjusted to having it on. She is 40 lbs, an aussie/lab mix and the medium/large fit her with a lot of room to grow. We plan to start her on the small saddlebags with light weight and step up to the large orange saddlebags with more weight when she reaches her full size. Now she can carry her own food and snacks while hiking and backpacking.I've heard this gives working dogs a sense of purpose and they love having a job to do. I'm hoping this will be true for her. A seven mile run barely tires her out, so we need to step up her game.
