VIS101 Wireless Driveway Motion Alert System

We have a long driveway, we live in a rural area. We wanted this alert system to warn us of cars, people, also animals, that roam the area.The Svat VIS 101 does all this. We can hear the alarm throughout the house.

I'm on my 4th unit and the units have all been pretty much worthless as driveway alarms. The first unit failed after a couple of months with tons of false alarms. Their so-called Tech Support person sent me another unit that was DOA. It took 2 hours on their chat line to get another one sent and that one failed in a couple of days and never was reliable. I have had the 4th unit for many months now but have disabled it due to false alarms and NEVER going off when vehicle passes, just when and animal goes by. This is the 3rd cheaper brand Driveway alarm I have bought and all are JUNK!! The only one that is reliable and gives very few false alarms is the Dakota Alert and they actually have GREAT U.S. support personnel that know their business.

I bought this motion alert along with a extra one for my front yard which is 3/4 of an acre. I wanted to be alerted when UPS, the post office or a visitor came up my driveway. Most of the time I have to leave it off because it picks up the trees or bushes slightly moving in a breeze! Its so annoying going off all the time over a leaf moving.

I ordered this product because I suspected that a neighbor was scaling my privacy fence and possibly attempting some window-peeping as my wife is a 10+. I also ordered an additional sensor. One of the sensors is working very well and I am very pleased with my purchase. The second sensor, however, is producing false alarm, after false alarm, after false alarm, all night, every night. How do I know they're false alarms, because at 3:00 a.m., I am traversing my back yard, gun in hand and have yet to see anything moving. I am going to inquire with the vendor about replacing the one sensor. Overall, however, I am very pleased with the purchase.

This works very well but you have to be aware of the pitfalls. The base station runs out of batteries very quickly and thus is basically only usable in locations where you can plug it into an outlet. This is the only downside but it limits its use. Otherwise it's a good product, very solid and well done.

This is packaged as a driveway alert system, but it can also be used as a great home intrusion alert. Both doors on my home are on the opposite side of the house, and since I have to have a fan to sleep with, I've always been uncomfortable with the idea that someone could break in my house with me unaware. Not anymore. This little baby senses the slightest motion and discretely chirps at me to warn of the presence of someone unknown.Older reviews hint at pairing instructions, but they must have gotten the older models, my manual gave simple instructions, and I had this entire system from bringing the Amazon box in my house to set up completely in about 10 minutes.I'm impressed!

instructions are not bad. Powered up both units. When I pressed pairing button on reciever unit would not respond as instructions said with channel 1 LED blinking. Thus could not get sender and receiver to link up. Called 24/7 support left on hold 20 minutes with no personal contact. I have returned for a refund. Amazon should drop this product!!!

I needed a driveway sensor as our main living quarters are on opposite side of house from driveway. The driveway is about 150' long and lined by thick trees. The house is also surrounded by trees in the direction of the driveway.This sensor requires the sensor, mounted outside, to be in a direct line of sight to the receiver. If you have obstructions that prohibit that, then this won't work. I promptly returned it to Amazon.A few cons on this device:1. The receiver is not very loud, with volume at highest. If you have it in another room and have any noise going, such as a radio or tv, you likely won't hear it.2. It says water resistant. Once you read the instructions, it says it is NOT waterproof, so mount it under an eave or something. Hard to do if you want to mount it on a tree.3. As stated already, it is an IR device, requiring line of sight. The description does not say that, only when I read the instructions did I find that out.
