Squirrel Buster Legacy Squirrel-proof Bird Feeder w/4 Metal Perches, 2.6-pound Seed Capacity

This feeder is easy to fill and truly squirrel proof. I've been filling it with black oil sunflower seeds for extra energy Winter feed. Neither the large grey squirrels nor the smaller red squirrels have been able to get any of the seed. Will also keep the larger bully birds from getting any seed. I'd buy it again if I had to, but it's really sturdy, so I won't have to unless I want another one in my yard. I highly recommend this bird feeder!

I have several anti-squirrel feeders by this same company and they all work wonderfully. This one is favored by all my birds which are titmice, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, sparrows and chickadees. They tend to like the more open portals on this model but will venture to the smaller ones if I put their favorite sunflower kernels or peanut parts in them. We are in Florida so the wires might get hot so I might wrap them. It is easy to clean and looks great.All the feeders look great and the birds do go to all of them but they tend to use this model more. It’s not the largest model but it a good size. Plus….Squirrels cannot succeed on this model!

The media could not be loaded.  UPDATE: The feeder so nice, I purchased it twice - or rather I was so impressed with this feeder i also purchased the Standard size, and frankly, if theStandard were the first feeder i ever had I probably never would have sought out any others. There is a decent size difference between the Standard and Legacy but both are decently sized. I’ve noticed birds using the ‘twig ring’ to help break seed/nut shells too as you can see in the video. Cardinal approved though he hates being spied on so I’ve proof they visit, but can’t tell you how often. Squirrels have seen me at the window and behave so I’ve yet to see the squirrel proofing. I wish it didn’t swivel/spin so easily but the birds get used to it and i gather it helps shake squirrels off.Original review: Feels so much larger in real life than i anticipated. Pretty soon after deciding to ever get a bird feeder i had to abandon the cute wooden house style ones - very charming but very easy for squirrels to feed from. If it came in black, I probably would have bought it earlier - but i’m honestly much happier with the green anyway. I’ve gone through 6 other bird feeders trying to find something that would keep the squirrels at bay but good for birds and still look good. Out of the box i was really impressed by the quality of this feeder and ease of use. There are three seed compartment dividers inside the plastic tube that i wasn’t expecting but very much appreciate. I like having blue jays visit too so happy that you can adjust it and the instructions make it super clear/easy. Hopefully not the mourning doves though. But I’ve noticed that cardinals prefer hopper styles feeders so I cut two flexible twigs from a tree and used grocery bag twists to make a 360 degree perch. Loved it so much i had to write a review now but will update with any news.

These bird feeders are amazing at keeping the squirrels from stealing the food for my birds. I have multiple times seen them trying to eat the bird food and being stumped on how to get it. They have tried to hang upside down to grab at the food but can't reach it. They then try to hang on the sides because they can smell the food, but the screen slides down and they can see the seeds but can't get at it! It is funny to watch them trying. But on occasion the wind will blow really hard and my feeder has fallen off. And on the times when a part has broken or was lost: (Maybe the squirrels are taking it away!) this company will send you whatever part broke or was lost for free. (Just provide your order number) Great company, great product, great customer support. Buy with confidence.

Keeps squirrels out great. Every once and a while it clogs up (probably food I am using), but just shake it on the hanger, clears the clog out.Problem I noticed this week was birds were no longer going to this feeder for a few days. Went out to check why, Snow built up on top of it and made it both squirrel proof & bird proof.Shook feeder, snow fell off, spring bounced back, all good. I guess I can deal with the 30 second hassle.I also have one of the smaller items of this, and two suet feeders also from this manufacture. Snow did not affect operation of either of these units.

The best bird feeder I have owned! Keeps the squirrels away from the seed but not the raccoons! Found it on the ground this morning, all the seeds gone. Two raccoons picked it up and somehow managed to remove the protective sheath where the hook is, take it off the stand and drop it to the ground, where they fully enjoyed their feast. To note though, the feeder did not break when it dropped and I was able to reassemble and put back together in no time. Any ideas to help with raccoons? It was placed as instructed 18" from any climbing surface. Definitely worth the purchase!

I didn't think any feeder would resist my squirrels. They have shattered plexiglas, gnawed through wood, and dismantled metal component to get at my bird seeds. I had no more birds feeding in my yard. Enters this magic feeder and my squirrel problem seems nearly resolved. The birds came back very quickly: blue jays, cardinals, and chikadees use the feeder a lot so far. I'm so happy. These feeders are expensive but, if they last, they are really worth it. Thinking of getting a few more. :)

This is a well made feeder, strurdy, squirrel proof, I have two negative commentairies, one is there are only 4 feeding ports which limits the number of birds visiting, and two: the main bin does not contain enough seeds. My original impression was at holding 2.5 lbs of seed, I thought that would be plenty. However, I don't think that it actually holds 2.5 lbs of seed. I expect to have to fill it daily this winter because where I live, the bin will be emptied quickly on a cold winter day.
