Never to be seen again...
This could have been great, but my husband lost it the first time he went outside. Yes, the instructions warned to practice indoors until you are proficient, but that's not why it was lost. Here's the story. He set it down, pushed the "up" lever, and the drone went up, up, and away. It went above the treetops (a least 100 feet) and when he tried to reverse the flight direction, there was no response, probably because the signal was out of range. He next turned off the controller, but the drone kept flying. So yeah, it worked great until it disappeared forever.Cons:The provided tiny philips screwdriver is worthless. It is needed to manually attach the propellers before use. We had to find our own screwdriver before we could even use this. The controller looks cheap (and apparently has some communication issues)It's tiny and fits in the palm of your hand. For this price, it should be expected, but just keep this in mind. It's also so small it's hard to find if it goes missing.Pros:Flight is powerful and has a good range (maybe not so good in our case).Extra propellers and landing rubber stoppers included. We didn't get a chance to test out the camera, but be warned that the camera eye looks almost identical to the spot where the power source is plugged in. One could easily damage the camera trying to put the plug in the wrong spot.Overall, this is probably a good little drone, but there seem to be issues with the controller.

Fun Toy to get you into the Drone Hobby
This was the first quad toy I bought and it really got me interested in the hobby. Immediately I opened up this quad to see what's inside, since it's so easy to remove the eight screws with the included screwdriver. I noticed that everything is soldered on, even the battery which is propitiatory. I may have to see if I can change the battery out to allow for 200mah lipo 1s batteries and try to get more brushed motors since the motors only last for a few hours of flight time. The quadcopter itself has a bit of a tough learning curve when it comes to keeping it stable, especially if you have never flown a RC aircraft before. I like that it's relatively quick compared to other micro drones like the tiny whoop. It's pretty durable, and include 4 extra props if you lose them. However, there aren't any places I could find online that have these props for replacement. I've already replaced 3 of them so I'm down to one left.I'm not sure what's going on with my ALX but it seems that the gyros are a bit messed up. I will have it hovering and suddenly it will want to pitch forward or sideways and I have to hold the control stick all the way to the opposite end to keep it from running into a wall. It could have been because of all the times it crashed - and I've crashed it plenty of times, not just inside, but outside from pretty high up! It still flies pretty straight. I was thinking about getting an X brace for the bottom to plug in where the silicon feet go to maybe keep all the props straight. One of them seems bent a bit and no matter how much I try to bend it back, it doesn't quite stay.I do like that it has a small camera for recording video or taking pictures. The only crummy thing about this though is that you have to use the micro SD card and USB adapter this comes with, because of the way the SD card is formatted. I tried using my own SD card but it didn't work... that could be because it may not support as high as 64GB SD. But there's really no information about any of the hardware on their website or the manual. All in all, I believe that this is a pretty good deal, and helps introduce people into the wonderful world of drones, or just regular RC aircraft!
