Q: My vdo pressure sender has 2 posts. one is marked "wk" and the other "0". which is for the gauge and which for the low pressure light?

WK is for the warning light, O is the 0 to 5 Bar gauge.

Q: will this sender fit my type 1 vw 1600 engine block? does it have the correct threads?

VW sender use M10x1.0 thread, not 1/8 NPT

Yes it will. I have mine on a 1967 block and it works great. Good for using a gauge and a engine cut off if pressure gets low. You can also use it for the factory oil pressure light. It screws right where the factory sending unit goes, same threads. Not sure if a earlt 36HP block is the same though. Never had one that old.
