It worked
I was a cheapskate and bought this tub instead of the syringe because I’ve got plenty of syringes and needles at home (medical not dodgy.Sadly, although even with a 30gauge needle (drawing up needle) I couldn’t get the paste to go through. Is this thicker than the identical stuff sold in syringes? Or is my needle a smaller gauge? Granted my shrine is only 5ml so I can’t get much purchase on the plunger, and the needle pushed on to the syringe, whereas the one these guys sell the needle screws on, making it impossible for the needle to fly off and paste go all over your leg.Why am I rambling? I have insomnia, I’m bored, I’m boring, and what’s the point in it all?

Good Stuff!
We don't use flux very often, but when we do this is the stuff! Performs well. Happy!

Messy
Very effective. However while it might not be corrosive, it certainly leaves lots of residue so I feel I don’t have much choice but to clean this no-clean product.

Works for surface mount with soldering iron.
This flux is pretty thick. It works well in assisting with surface mount soldering using an iron. Good purchase.

Beware the 2 year shelf life as it may have already expired before delivery
MG really ought to be adding an expiry date on these.I noticed that there were odd looking crystals on top, which concerned me, as I'd read about these causing issues with the 10ml syringe version of this.I contacted the manufacturer directly, who pointed me to the batch code on the side and confirmed this pot had already expired. This flux paste has a 2 year shelf life (as you can confirm by searching for the products data sheet or by contacting MG directly.) My pot was made in 2021, and at the time of writing this review it was 2024. So this had already expired early year whilst sat in Amazon's warehouse. This was sold and fullfilled by Amazon directly! In case others wish to check: the batch code is of the form of 5 digits followed by 1 letter and the first two digits give you the year of manufacture.I'm guessing the others experiencing crystalisation issues have been hit by this expired old stock issue too without realising it.

Needs more heat than the syringe version
It's just about a good flux but needs more ehat than the syringe version. This poses a risk to BGA computer chips. Better off using the syringe version at lower heat.
