While sometimes hard to read due to the old writing style, my kids and I enjoyed reading a firsthand account of what it was like to have sailed on this voyage!

This is fun. I love history and the lengths these men went to to believe that land "was just around the corner" is just unbelievable.Great peak into the history and the historical voyage across a very large ocean .

Very good illustrations -- this book includes excerpts from the ship's log of the Santa Maria. It's a good book for showing the courage of the expedition, and also for pointing out how Columbus misled his crew to keep them from despairing. Older grades.

Very good I definitely recommend this book to anyone. It was very well just great and I am sure you all that read it will love it! :)

Great literature option for studying Christopher Columbus. Used this with Veritas Press history.

I just received the Dover paperback advertised with "44 Sepia prints". Now Sepia is, as artists know, a reddish-Brown color. Oddly, the kindle version ,which is offered as the "look inside" sample, shows sepia-like prints. The only two shown as far as you get in the sample are interesting historical prints. The rest, which you cannot see, are fair drawings- like the Dover coloring book style drawings. The problem is that in the book they are all white! There is no sepia unless you add your own. This may be the first example of a Kindle version which is better than the book version.
