Definitely a great read to understand the spirit of northern Michigan. Jerry really writes well and his books are a pleasure to read!

I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law after hearing the author interviewed on the radio. But after reading a few chapters I realized I need to get my own copy of the book. The author has a wonderfully descriptive way of describing his experience of growing up in northern Michigan. I particularly liked the chapter named “October.”
