Good dough hook for the kitchen aid artisan
Works better than the C hook that my artisan kitchen aid came with. You may need to adjust your mixer head to make sure it’s at the correct height to work with the spiral hook. Also make sure you lock your mixer head in place when using the dough hook - with stiffer doughs it will move around quite a bit.The stainless material is nice too. Easy to clean, and resists corrosion well. Highly recommended if you like to make breads and have an artisan kitchen aid.

Best to use when wanting to utilize the bowl bottom for kneading, rather than the side
When kneading a smaller amount in my KitchenAid mixer, I like to use this spiral dough hook, especially with the 4.5 qt bowl. Because it tends to use the bowl's bottom to knead, rather than exclusively the side. It works especially well for 1-1.5 lbs of dough (454g-680g). With more dough, and the 5 qt bowl, I still prefer the conventional hook, depending upon the dough characteristics. When it rotates, it splits a section off to the side and rolls and slaps it, then, ultimately, re-incorporates it into the mass. This is different than the conventional hook which rolls dough mostly against the side until it balls up on the hook upon finish. I still use both, but this one has its niche for less dough.I originally disliked the paddle thingy at the bottom, but realized it assists with mixing when dry flour/meal rests at the bottom of the bowl, so long as water is added, it assists in picking it up. The stainless steel is also robust and more easy to clean. I'm happy with the hook in general.

Very sturdy & works great with the Artisan 5qt KitchenAid
The attachments that came with my KitchenAid many years ago were coated in some kind of white stuff that started flaking off in chunks, so I needed to buy replacements. This is heavier and seems sturdier than the original attachments. It hooks into the 5 quart Artisan mixer really well.I will say this is not my favorite attachment for working with dough even though it's called a dough hook. The paddle attachment works much better for making bread and seems to do a better job of thoroughly mixing the dough.Overall I am happy with this item.

Love this hook!
I purchased this when the enamel of my original hook started to flake off. I ordered it because it seemed sturdy and came without a coating. The hook didn't disappoint. It is good quality and works well. I do wish that it had the "shield" since my dough rode up and gummed up the connector area.

Pizza dough extraordinaire
Much better than the stock Kitchen Aid dough hook. Great for pizza dough.

Good dough hook
Only used this a couple of times since we got it. The fit was good for our new ( to us) stand mixer. Fit the narrowing kitchen Aid bowl and mixer. Seems very durable. Will update as we have it longer.

It's a good spiral hook
I've used this spiral dough hook a few times now, and I have been happy so far. It did great with a double batch, but struggled with a small batch. That's possibly due to the dough consistency of the recipe for tortillas, so I don't fault the hook. It's very sturdy in construction, and the shape is great for kneading bread dough. Stainless steel is much better than the coated aluminum hook that comes stock.

doesn't fit when tilt-head is calibrated for a whisk
It hits the sides and bottom of the bowl when the mixer is properly calibrated for a whisk. It is millimeters too big. I don't want to raise the lift and then not be able to whip cream with my whisk.
