Great Mailbox Alarm
This mailbox alarm works and functions great. I purchased this one to replace a different previous alarm that quit working after 8 years. This unit is better than the previous one. The transmitter is built heavier and has much better 3M contact tape to hold it in place. It works perfectly when the mailbox door is opened and the availability of many different alarm sounds is welcomed. I highly recommend this unit.

Do you have a window facing the mailbox?
🙂 The mailbox device will need you to comprehend the instructions. It is held in place with double sided tape. The receiver unit did not work at first as our walls were brick. I relocated the receiver to a window facing the street and it works fine. As the manual says it gives you a light that flashes if the mailbox is opened. Working great for my mom who was worried about leaving mail in the box all day. 5 Stars

Well that did not last long
This my second review. This product worked well for a few months but has completely quit now.It was erratic about a couple of weeks ago. A fresh set of batteries in the transmitter (mailbox unit) seemed to help, but now it is completely broken. The receiver (inside unit) just sits there with its reset, steady, red light on. Never tells me that mail was delivered. Useless. Do not waste your money.=================================================Original review: This mailbox alarm works well. However, fixing two things would have raised my rating to five stars.First short-fall is the adhesive on the back of the mailbox/transmitter unit. After cleaning inside of the mailbox door and insuring the surface was dry, I mounted the transmitter using the provided adhesive tape. I pressed the unit to the door for about 20 seconds to insure a good bond. The transmitter fell off the door the first time I closed it. I used a common double-face foam tape, repeated the cleaning, drying and instillation. The transmitter has remained attached and worked well for over a week, so far.The second short-fall is the annoying short power cord on the receiver unit. As supplied it is only two feet long. This might work for some users, but not for me. Since I have certain skills, I opened the receiver, unsoldered the line cord, soldered in a longer (6 foot) cord. and reassembled the receiver. This cost saving by the manufacturer was very annoying to this customer.UPDATE, MARCH 2022:Well, after a few months of use, my mail carrier knocked the transmitter off the mailbox door (even with my revised foam tape mounting). So, today, I reinstalled the transmitter with four bolts holding it to the mailbox door. The manufacturer should consider providing a wider flange with bolt holes. As of now it is only trapped between pairs of bolts. Also, the alarm sounds mailbox door is opened or closed. OK, that is as specified. But it means that the alarm is triggered when we put outbound mail in the box and sometimes I forget to reset the inside unit. I can envision a transmitter that is only triggered on the closure of the door and the addition of a button on the transmitter that temporarily disables it for a minute or so. This way outbound mail could be placed and, with a tap of the button, the mailbox could be closed without the spurious alarm event.

Alarm worked without any set up problems.
This item works as advertised. The alert tone could be louder, otherwise it's working with 100 feet separation.

Great for folks with a long lane
This is really great if you live in a rural area and have a long drive. It will let you know when the mailman opens your box to put your mail in so you don't have to make multiple trips to the mailbox for nothing. Set up was super easy.

Great Product
This works well, But it would not work for my mailbox because of the type of mailbox that seemed to prevent the signal from reaching the receiver. My Mailbox is metal and because of the way it is constructed the remote had too much metal surrounding it. I tried several different locations but could not get it to work. And yet if the remote was tilted back in forth from outside of my mailbox the signal made to the receiver. So this product works but not on every type of mailbox. Unfortunately, I was forced to return this product and received a full refund. The only way I could see to improve this product would be if it had an external wire antenna that allowed me to drill a small hole so the wire could have extended to the outside of my mailbox.
